    Gas cap confusion

I have driven many miles since this topic and I have had zero problems with leakage ever since. I got two gas caps by damraider; one on the Barracuda which looks absolutely killer in the aluminum look on the silver body, and the other on the Valiant. I kept that one stock (aluminum) for now as...

    Whistling holley 1920

The car is idling fine and running strong, without tuning the carb again even. I know UTG is debated and I read the links from slantsixdan and they are very, very useful, thank you! I’ll also check the choke pull-off. Thanks again, Dan! The engine isn’t at its prime as one can hear (there is a...

    Whistling holley 1920

This is the sound: It’s a high pitch and an occasional extra squeal which makes me think there is just a little too much room at a mating point between a diaphragm and a mating surface (like a balloon passing air when you stretch it). I have baselined the carb by turning the idle mixture...

    Whistling holley 1920

My Holley does the same after I rebuilt it can’t figure out where it’s coming from exactly but it’s from within. I would suspect the economizer diaphragm as that top already looked quite malformed (and the new diaphragm is a tad thinner). It does sound more internal though. It runs much...

[WANTED] Carter BBS for /6 ‘65

Fed up with the leaky 1920’s… Does anyone have an okay BBS for the 1965 throttle linkage slant sixes that is salvageable or good (not the rotted out ones on eBay)? I’m in Europe so preferably one here or else it would need to be sent over (I know not everyone can do that so that’s why I...

    Gas cap confusion

Okay, I’m still too dumb to get it I guess… I see that vent tube run from the tank to the top of the filler tube, which makes me think it is still a closed loop if the cap is not vented. Where does it actually vent out to the air to prevent the tank from sucking vacuum?

Joining the wagon in a wagon

That car in the background is actually an Impala but I totally understand how it looks like a ‘65 Dodge from this angle and with the mods. I saw it parked there and took a snapshot. In the meantime I got to know the owner, a wonderful guy and a corvette specialist. He does really enjoy old...

    Gas cap confusion

The leaks have gone after loosening the gas cap so I guess it’s not that gasket, but it’s good to keep in mind, thanks!

Also a bigger picture of the Barracuda (when we brought it home) and the Hudson, just to be complete.

Joining the wagon in a wagon

Picture, good suggestion! This is a picture of when we just got back home from 1100 miles Sweden to The Netherlands. This looked like love at first sight haha

    Gas cap confusion

Thanks everybody, I have the 1965 workshop manual laying around, why I haven’t checked that beforehand I can’t tell you - I’m using it extensively to find some faults in the electrical department so it’s open on those pages. I think it’s because of my confusion (and ADHD fed one-track mind)...

    Gas cap confusion

For the ‘65 Valiant station and Barracuda I am in need for gas caps. As the Valiant lives on the street I would like a locking version on that one. Now here is my confusion: I see the gas cap of damraider and I see the Stant locking gas cap, both of which are NON vented. Now, when I drove back...

Joining the wagon in a wagon

Hi everybody! My nickname is Rust on Wheels. I recently bought a 1965 Valiant 200 station from Sweden and drove it home 1100 miles. My girlfriend owns a 1965 Barracuda that we recently got back on the road after some work… Both have a 225 and 904. I used to own Mopar only but in 2012 I bought...
