    TTi Headers,What Starter?

On my '64 I have a typical mid 90's (for visual look at autozone pn# 17274) starter. It fits just fine with my SB, 904, TTI combo.

98 dakota 5.2 magnum cutting out

I would be testing the IAC valve and the fuel pressure.

Carb issue. Tries to stall when cornering/braking.

Lowering it might not do anything if the needle valve is worn. I would just take it apart and have a good look at everything.

Carb issue. Tries to stall when cornering/braking.

Does sound like the float. I would open it up and have a look at everything. Don't trust someone elses work who you don't know. Make sure the float setting, metering rods, jets, etc., are what they should be.

    Over heating!

A few questions 1. Is the gauge reading properly? Could be off or as stated an air pocket 2. How far is the fan from the radiator? Too far away and it won't pull air through the radiator. Plus I would ditch the flex fan in favor of a clutch setup 3. Properly tuned? Since you talk about it...

    Camshaft wont fit

X2. I had a new cam out of the box that was bent. A cardboard box plus having people toss these things around can cause some big headaches.

    Transmission Bolts

They are 3/8-16, don't remember the length. Just put them together and measure the depth with something like a screwdriver. Any hardware store should have them readily available.

Took duster out for a spin Vid inside

Yeah I lived right on Hillview, probably would remember the white '64 Dart GT along with my old blue lifted Blazer. I lived there for about 5 years and before that I lived in the apartments at the corner Winfield and Coleman.

Took duster out for a spin Vid inside

Sounds good. I know what you mean about the drone sound getting old. For years all my exhaust systems consisted of 3" pipes dumped right at the axle with two chamber flows. Long 45mph runs got noxious. It's odd to see my old stomping grounds on vid, haven't seen it in like 3 years.

    Embarrased that I'm asking

I have done both the strap wrench and large channel locks. Either way grab the filter as high up as you can, that way you can put the most torque on it without the filter crushing.

    Yes, it works just fine.

    Whats everyone running for gears?

In my '64 I run 3.27's in the 8.8. Keeps my RPM's low for long distance freeway use.

    Favorite parts store/source

Honestly it's really going to depend on the crew behind the counter rather than the name on the door. I started working for All Parts Auto (California, San Jose, Morgan Hill, Gilroy area) after being a long time customer because the guys either knew what I was looking for or would work till they...

    Timing belt damage - wow!

I hated doing timing belts. I noticed many car manufacturers are getting away from timing belts and using chains again. The only real problems I have seen though is they are often using tensioners with really thin plastic/polymer liners. I have had to fish plastic chunks out of the pan and even...

**Summit Fast 5 vs Jegs Sport Star**

I have the sport lites and there is plenty of clearance for my disc brakes. I just checked my 15x7's and the the id towards the top is 14'' then about 2 inches in it starts to taper down to just over 13". I honestly though wouldn't use them for the rear of any high hp/tq track setup. They seems...

Trans out and have a few questions

How long does it take to rebuild one? My first one took two days. Day one I pulled it out, tore it down and cleaned it up. Day two was reassembly with the shift kit then reinstalling it. It honesly will depend though on how jacked up the trans. is. Any major parts broken and obviously then you...

So sick of the V8 or die guys...

The world is full of those "_____ or die!" types of people. I say build whatever suits your needs. I took out my slant and put in a 318 just because I already had parts for it and I am much more familiar with the platform. Hell, I get ask the "why not a 360?" question pretty often. The fact is I...

    Taylor Cable plug wire quality?

I have been running Taylor wires for years, never had any problems with them. In fact I used to sell them too when I worked at an auto parts store and never saw any come back defective either.

    Stupid things you have done

Went to prime a SB chevy without tightening the chuck on the drill all the way. Didn't notice until the drill starting spinning very easy, looked down to see metal shavings pouring down the distributor hole. Once did a cam swap and after tightening down the rockers went to fire the engine up...

    Gun purchasing advice (Seriously)

A few good handguns that can be used for CCW, home defense , and regular range use would be in my opinion Glock 19,23,26,27 Smith & Wesson M&P 9c, 40c, or 45c Ruger SR9c or SR40c Springfield XD compacts

    Brake pads....

Yeah you can thank autozone for that one. Once they started popping up all over the place every manufacturer tried to copy them with that whole good, better, best lineup. Mostly just try to steer clear of organics and severe duty pads on your Exploder. Those severe dutys can be great for some...

    Stolen Checks = Late Rent

They where doing something like that out here not too long ago, ended up being a whole crew that later got caught.
