im sure the brakes could stop it with the new power but it will stop pretty lousy. I wouldnt cut corners on the brakes, just put some discs on. Id say go with the 440, 360s are a dime a dozen. Mild 440 is streetable and will hold its own with a built 360. plus you get that 727. your his dad, show him not to act like a fool with it and im sure he'll listen

my friend is doing this in his 72 Scamp, tommorrow were getting 2 440s from the junkyard, one for the Scamp the other for a 67 Coronet. One thing to remember is that its easier to use a B engine (383 or 400) than an RB 440, it clears things better and you do have power brakes with a big booster...

i was thinking about this today at work, seems like everyone else is too. dont those epa rules apply only to cars that require smog checks? i dont think anyone would know if our cars didnt meet emissions, which im sure they dont anyway. E85 is a lot better than gasoline, and cheaper.

have you tried the junkyards, I see darts a lot at the local yards, got some trim pieces off one just the other day for the vinyl top im putting on... of course in the east coast they might be rusty, but youll save a ton and you know for sure it will fit

i had a moroso pan, removed it after it bottomed out and it took out one of the welds and started leaking, got it fixed and it it bottomed out again, that time it got a bigger hole... put the stock pan on, didnt want to deal with that in my daily driver... wouldnt recommend these unless you use...

Normally it would have a 904 but someone may have put in a 727. Look at the shape of the pan to tell them apart. Either way the 904 is good for a 350 HP car. the electronic ignition is good. You can do some head work on the iron heads, dont need to get expensive aluminum heads if your shooting...

you got a great deal on that Scamp, and i agree, build up that 318. you can get pretty good power out of it,and still be streetable. are you planning on racing it, cruise around, or a little of both

I see 8 3/4's at the junkyards a lot, you just have to look around, the ones that go for a lot of money are from people who know what they have and know they can get a lot for them.... the 9" weighs a ton too compared to an 8 3/4
