68 Barracuda front disc brake conversion and suspension upgrade

I had already rebuilt my lowers I replaced the uppers to gain caster and improve drivability. I kept the small ball joint on the upper. I had no intentions of going to the bigger bolt pattern. I had just rebuilt the Lowers and did not want to go with QA1 lowers. Sorry for the confusion.

68 Barracuda front disc brake conversion and suspension upgrade

No, I stayed with the small ball joint. It coincides with keeping the lower A arms. I did upgrade to 15” cragers and tires . I had 14” as well but you can buy a few 15’s with small bolt pattern!

    The horse is dead

I wonder if Dave from Hughes has/ can see this thread? Maybe after all the waisted breath, him seeing this could help the most!

He ordered the wrong rockers .. he should have ordered 1,5’s they would have been plug and play!

    The horse is dead

Not sure when you came into this, but it has festered into something bigger than I want to be a part of! I see both sides, I have to say. It’s just that some opinions are being conveyed with more conviction than others . I was bashed early on by him, but it was a result of my statement. I’m not...

    The horse is dead

I was a victim of this exact mentality today… I ordered a new Edelbrock 1904 AVS2 with electric choke… I received it today.. when I opened the box, the Edelbrock box was a 1904 but torn and worn when I opened the box inside was a very used plastic bag with a partial carburetor in it. An original...

    The horse is dead

I broke out in a cold sweat while reading your post. You’re not wrong. I was a business owner for over 30 years. Also kept a clean organized store.. can’t count the times someone would walk in with mud caked on there boots. Or instead of stomping off outside, walk in and wipe there feet on the...

68 Barracuda front disc brake conversion and suspension upgrade

As for the suspension upgrades, which has seemed to have got lost in this thread, my vote is QA1 uppers at least, rebuild the lowers. Maybe add stiffener plates, and throw a set of Bilsteins on her.. and if you don’t have one put a sway bar on the front.. my 2 cents..

    The horse is dead

Blahhaha, I can’t watch U.T. Anymore.. he starts a video, in 30 seconds he’s rambling off on to some other unrelated subject… then repeats himself 4 times.. then throws something.. the end!! I find myself just going “ what the hell was that?”. Kind of like this thread! lol.

68 Barracuda front disc brake conversion and suspension upgrade

Also , you have the option of bolting calipers on front like A body’s, or if you have a sway bar as I do, you can reverse the mounts and mount them like B body on rear.

    The horse is dead

Funny you mention Ken at Oregon Cam down in Vancouver Wa. I had him grind a cam for my build that I’m doing now.. there hasn’t been one time that I have called him that he hasn’t had time to talk to me, not only with grace, but also with patience! Super guy that does awesome work..he also...

    The horse is dead

You’re not wrong, and most in here were conveying most that you say. It was a two way street. But it also seems that many have had bad experiences with Dave himself. It should be easy to remove himself from the CS line.. others there are very helpful. And don’t miss the fact that right in the...

    The horse is dead

I might be wrong here, but I think you are suppose to use a shorter pushrod with the 1.6. Also.. I’m not completely onboard with lead69’s analogy, but I’m old school. You treat people right, you make money, you also get return business. I’ve dealt with places that I don’t see eye to eye, yes...

Harlan/ Sharp you can’t go wrong. They are some of the more spendy ones out there, but one of the best if not the best on the market. that’s what I went with on my small block build..
