A gusset = triangle piece of flat metal placed where support (from a horizontal to vertical) is/if needed. As far as lower arm stiffening, as mentioned above flat stock welded to bottom don't cover torsion bar adjustment nuts. Look at picture online and copy.

Been following for a long time. Great thread. Don't remember if you already did or not, but figured worth mentioning...since you have k-frame out consider welding factory stitch welds solid and possibly adding gussets to further strengthening it?

Doc, take an awl or Phillips screwdriver and try to poke into beams, especially around edges/ends. If it easily penetrates you've got rotted or infested wood. Tel-tale hint of termites are sand-like tunnels, usually around outside edge of foundation and/or along masonry (basement/crawl space)...

Thoughts on - build a clean spray booth or an inflatable. Inflatables look pretty cool, on TV, but they never show aftermath = how to clean it... I'd think if you built your own you could save $$$ for something else and when you're all done painting just throw away the plastic sheeting. Just...

Those tail lamps are sweet. They appear to have dots around them? Are they LED, or just packed in bubble wrap?

Confusedcuda, I hear you on reliability over power. A little more than stock is good enough for the A body. I'm 63, so I can relate to driving versus working on something all the time. Can't wait to hear and see it run in your Cuda.

DROOLLLL:p Nice work, sounds awesome, nice idle. Bet the owner is excited. Hope when he gets it in his car and running he'll post up a video here. So you've been building engines for a while, what's your guess the numbers could be? Not that it really matters, it's a rockin' engine, just...

Yep they open the valves for sure, then (in more instances than we'd like to see) as time passes they wear the cam lobes, valves don't open as much, fine metal particles circulate "everywhere" and all sorts of fun begins.

Nice work. Note on undercoating, not saying you don't know this but thinking some others reading along may not think of this old trick. Before applying rust preventive coating / sound deadener into an area that could clog weep / drain holes slide a straw into the hole (coffee stirrers work...

I'm hearing that new lifters aren't cutting the mustard. Is this the only option these days? Wonder what is causing failures, assuming correct methods are used for installation, along with coating all surfaces with a break-in lube typically supplied with cam & lifters? Metallurgy? Interesting...

Exactly and he will get past it. Good for him, you fall off the horse, get right back in the saddle. Glad he's good and the car you'll fix it for sure. Bright sides - he's good and you'll be keeping out of trouble over the winter.

    Trying to weld, I’m terrible!

All great information. I'm no welder but a master grinder (sucks). Biggest things, as mentioned (and told to me years ago) "CLEAN" is a must, Gas is Good, spot and move a few inches away, repeat, then go back to first spot (it is CLEAN right), spot the new to the 1st, move a few inches away...

Just Sharing This Brake Master Cylinder Trick

I recall reading (can't remember where, of course) that DOT 5 should "not" be used with disc / drum, only disc / disc systems. Also, can't remember why. Big help here right? Do some research before inadvertently swapping DOT, or other, fluids just to be safe
