Google it I believe any thing under 11 ohms is bad.

To check coil secondary connect your dvom probe to the coil positive and the other probe to the coil wire output. Check for carbon tracking in the cap. Ive learned the hard way never assume that new parts are good

Check from carbon tracking in the cap, check plug wire resistance and check coil secondary resistance. I just went through it on my Dart. It was all new when I put the 340 in it.

When my 340 did it, it wouldn’t miss cold. It was the very top of the valve spring that broke. As it warmed up it would start to miss.

Possibly pull the valve covers and check valve springs. I broke the very top of a valve spring and it did the same thing. Kind of a shot in the dark!

Front brakes are new along with the right front wheel bearing. I'll have to look at the rear brakes to see. It has the 4.2 straight six in it. Tires are about 50% tread left. If you want you can call me (260) 348-4076 Brian

Are the cables free and movable on the climate control head?

My 340 just blew the head gasket on number 7, it also started to blow cylinders 3,5. I went with Felpro 1008.

I got it apart and here is the the gasket it a fel pro 8553 pt. So it didn’t have Cometic gaskets after all

Yea that’s what I found out. The only thing I found with my 340 it has a blown head gasket. So I’m going to pull the heads and gasket it. I’m going to run it for know.

I kind of wonder if the Cometic gaskets didn't get installed.

Cylinders 3,5 are about to blow and 7 is blown

Well got it figured out when I had the engine built two years ago I didn’t want 10:1 I wanted 9.5:1 or a little less. So we went to a thicker Cometic head gasket to get it to 9:5.1 and it blew the gasket in between the push rods on cylinder 7.

Check the inside of the distributor cap for carbon tracking or a loose distributor shaft moving around.

Pull both valve covers and disable the ignition and have some one crank the engine and watch the valve train make sure all the rockers move up and down equally

I was go to do that I can pull the valve cover off really easy I hope it’s something easy like a valve seal but I doubt it, it’s probably a ring with my luck!

I looked in cylinder 7 with a bore scope didn’t see anything I might try to clean the cylinder out.

It dose have Cometic head gaskets. Used them to bring the compression down a little. Thanks for all replies I really appreciate it.

I’ll use Waze over the gps in my truck for those same reasons. My wife does the same thing has to be in charge of the gps , then she says turn that away. You know in a dark car.
