    Optional Clock, Tachometer, Performance Indicator

I found an original tach for my '69 on FABO 16 years ago and it has been pretty accurate. Definitely recommend that over the clock.

    Camshaft/Engine Experts - Opinion Needed

You've missed the original info that I only got the bottom end of the engine. Heads, intake, carb all gone. But I will list the parts I have and see if anyone can use them. Thanks for the feedback.

    Camshaft/Engine Experts - Opinion Needed

Ok, thanks for the info. And to clarify then, the camshaft doesn't need to be with the engine. I can scrap the engine and someone may be interested in the cam for a better price than new? Mine is a street car so it's of no value to me. Thanks for the reply.

    Camshaft/Engine Experts - Opinion Needed

Hi, Short story - I was given ($0) a '73 350 Pontiac engine - bottom end only. I needed a few parts, valley pan, oil pan and dipstick tube. I stripped it down to make it easier to lift and realized it was very clean, showing little wear. I pulled the camshaft and its a 296AH8. My limited...

4 Headlights or 2 Headlights; opinions needed.

The four headlights were more popular across the pond. Ask a North American and they'll likely answer two because its not the norm to our eyes. As others have said, it's your car not ours. Do what you want.

Low Speed Brake Shudder - Thoughts?

Tires and rims are new, the whole front end was done and aligned 2000 miles ago. Sabre67 might be on the right track with the pads.

Low Speed Brake Shudder - Thoughts?

69 Barracuda, Kelsey Hayes front disc, drum rear - power brakes.. I'll start by saying this is not a rotor warp. I'm very familiar with that. This is a shudder that is in the final 10 feet, 2mph, of a stop. It's in the front, I'm thinking a loose caliper? I am also getting a medium warble...

Thanks FABO - You never know what you have until you experience others

I just want to do a shout out to all of those who have responded/replied to members questions with their expertise. I recently added to our collection of vehicles. 69 Barracuda connected me to FABO 16 years ago, 67 Mustang (wife's) connected me to a Mustang forum 7 years ago and a new addition...

    Intake Manifold Colour?

Lol, My Mopar can says turquoise. And I swear my engine looks like yours in the pic. I thought the blue was a bit darker. But as the other post said....apparently the shades can change.

    Nurse! We got a Bleeder...

You didn't mention the wheel cylinders in the back. Sometimes you don't see the leak from outside unless you pull the drums.

    Steering Box 2267262 vs G-3643012

I’m pretty sure that I’m seeing 2267262 on my steering pump for my 69 Barracuda. I have a line on a G-3643012 steering box/gears that I am being told is a Dodge part number and they are interchangeable. So why do I question this….. because the person selling it did not sound confident and...

How would you rebuild this 318?

Thank you all for your replies. To answer some of your questions; I like what I have performance wise but have felt its a little flat and AJ has explained why. Budget wise, I was secretly hoping that I would get some support on the combination I had and could reuse a lot of it. Low thud...

How would you rebuild this 318?

I have a knock in my 318. Its definitely a lower end knock. My guess is a connecting rod. This is what I have; Bored .020 over stock pistons, rods, crank Compression ranged from 138 - 143 when I last checked it Comp cam XE262 262/270 duration, 462/470 lift 302 casting heads milled to 58 cc...

Crazy story about a dealer screwin a deployed soldier

A billboard advertisement pointing to the many articles written on this situation should be taken out as close to the dealership as possible. Public opinion will have the guy out of business in a year.

    68 Coronet inspect.

It does not make sense that a rear defrost is required because not all cars have a rear defrost. Your legal requirement is to have clear rear vision. Which can be done with two side mirrors and the rear enclosed, ie. a van. Or scrape the window like the other hundreds of vehicles that don't...

    Do I need a choke?

Got it. I’ve never seen that removed. I figured he meant there was no choke cable/linkage. I guess when you live in southern states you probably would never need the plate. But, I would think it would be beneficial in Stockholm unless he doesn’t drive it November - April.

    Do I need a choke?

I don't see a throttle plate. Is it a bad picture, my bad eyes or is it actually missing the throttle plate? How does it even run properly let alone start without that?

Oh my, I just read this thread in anticipation and................nothing. :mob: I didn't realize a clamp question would grab my attention, but it has!

    was this my imagination ?

^^^^^^ I would agree, has to be set perfect for igniting at TDC, just like the cars of today do. Fire the compressed cylinder to start at a red light when foot comes off the brake. Don't gas golf carts work on the same principle???

Who makes rims in our backspacing?

Agree, 5 x 101.6mm is what you're looking for, IF you have the small bolt pattern. I got customs from American Racing. When looking at their wheels look under "bolt pattern" and it will say "custom". The 5 x 101.6mm is considered a custom. Some wheels even have custom in their name...

    Yipes, Stripes!

First I'd try hard to custom match the green. Second choice.....I'd consider an outline of a butt stripe using same colour green pinstripe (more colour options in pinstripe). It's a way to put a white stripe on a white car.

    I need your honest opinion

Hi SlantedMark4, I believe you are struggling with your emotional attachment to your first classic car. You do not want to see it as a failure purchase, yet you may well be seeing it as a mistake. Well you are not the first, and not the last, to take on a project and realize the money pit is...

    American racing torque thrust

Fit as in within the wheel well? Yes. Fit as in 5 x 4.5 bolt pattern? No, unless you have changed your rear axles and your front disc, or drum, to a 4.5 bolt pattern. If your car is stock you'll need 5 x 4 bolt pattern.
