    340 duster F/S

Hey guys, I got a few pics! I have some of the car, when I first bought it. Unfortunately, they're on my iphone...which I do not own anymore. These pics are of the 340 before I started working on it. One of the redone motor (.30 over, line bored, and decked .10) And there's one of the body...

    340 duster F/S

I apologize, I didn't mean to lead, or tease. I work 80+ a week, so its been difficult to get to the parts, and cars. I will post some pictures tonight, and I WILL have a complete list of parts, and a ballpark figure later this week. I've put in over $6,000, and I'm prepared to take a loss...

    340 duster F/S

Sorry it's taken me a while to respond. I haven't had time to make a list of all the new parts I have. Most of them are for the engine, (water pump, oil pump, pans, gaskets, pistons, valvetrain). I also have new floor pans, weatherstrip, front suspension bushings, lca's, uca's. Most of the...

One last go at roof rail seals

Yes, they're all from Metro. If they turn out to not fit properly, I've heard Steele rubber makes great products.

One last go at roof rail seals

Great....I have trunk, pop outs, and window seals in the corner of the closet. :( Guess I shouldn't be surprised if there's a problem. I'll try the trick with the heat gun though.

New Ball Joints won't take grease.

Hey scamp, did you find a solution? I was installing my front suspension today, and I went to grease up my tie-rods and had the same problem. I didn't get around to the balljoints, but I imagine they'll give me guff too. While we're at it, could someone recommend a good quality grease to...

    Lower control arm bushings

That's one of the best ways my friend. You could weld a washer to the outside of the bushing and bash it through, or use a slide hammer to pop it out. I brought mine to a shop, and the old man took a torch to it, and melted my Torsion rod Key... so be careful.

    Torsion Bar Help

I'm about to re-install the whole front suspension and I'm under the impression that to install them correctly, you just drop the LCA's as far as they'll go and stab the T-bar through. Once you put it down on the ground, I think that should cover your pre-load problems.... I hope, (or I'll be...

Holy crap man. I just checked my 340, that I just got out of the shop and that plug wasn't installed. That brings the total screw-ups on my engine to 4!!! Woo!!! P.S. Thanks for that link fourspeed.

    Engine Builder (DALLAS)

Keep the suggestions comin!! Thanks for all the help guys. Sorry to hear about your problem 68sedan :(, I'll have to keep that in mind. I called Diamondback, and had a really great conversation with Damon. He mentioned Wayne Calverts which is alot closer to home. He also said he could only...

    Engine Builder (DALLAS)

I probably could have sent it off you to, and it would have been cheaper! Well first, they forgot to order the rod bearings setting me behind a week and a half. Then they didn't align the oil holes on the cam bearings. They were 1/2 to 3/4 blocked off. Then the cam bearing closest to...

    Engine Builder (DALLAS)

Yes.. Dallas, Tx. I originally had the engine at City Motor, but after taking it across town an additional 3 times for mistakes, I don't trust anything that's been done to it.

    Need your input on UCA's.

Aww cmon, no one has aftermarket uca's? Anyways, I just ordered Mancinis UCA's, we'll see how they work out. I didn't feel comfortable with firm feel, or just suspension. Both seem kinda shadey to me even though I've never dealt with either of the companies. I never drove my 340 so, I...

few questions to finish up build

Drop it off at a shop and have them build it. At least you can point the finger at someone else if the engine blows. Also you can get a warranty at most shops so if the engine fails, just get a new one. :P

    340 & 727 weight ???

i pulled my 340/727 out on the 1/4ton setting. Also, it hung there all night long without any problems. That DOES NOT MEAN you should let the engine hang any longer than it has to. Grab a used tire and aim the oil pan right in the middle of the tire and you're good to go.

    Need your input on UCA's.

Hey guys, I just got done ruining my UCA's :( and it's time to pick up some new ones. I plan on getting some tubular ones instead of finding a pair of used old school uca's. I've been looking at Mancini, FirmFeel, and Just Suspensions UCA's, and they all look great to me. Does anyone out...

    Strut Rod Bushings?

I got off the phone with Mancini, and I think I have it. The man on the phone had mentioned maybe the previous owner just changed one pivot shaft, that's why i have one of each. He suggested the pivot shaft with the ball type end, since the Super Kit they offer, has 2 Rubber LCA bushings. If...

    Strut Rod Bushings?

I checked out that link, but only the first page will pull up, the last two said article cannot be found. Both ball, and flat ended pivots rods are almost identicle in length. So, maybe it wouldn't even matter. I'll do some measuring and see if I can figure it out. If worse comes to worse...

    Strut Rod Bushings?

I just picked the lca's up from the shop and got them home. I knocked out the strut rods, and took out the lca pivot rods. I see the original lca bushing, I believe it's rubber, and the Mancini kit I bought (the plus size one) has two RUBBER LCA bushings because they didn't supply polys...

    Strut Rod Bushings?

Yeah sorry guys, I edited my post. I meant to say LCA pivot bushings. I was trying to imagine the piece (which is not on hand) and I put the wrong part down. I was outside, and just realized it. I flew in here to edit, but you had already replied!!

    Strut Rod Bushings?

Hey guys, I've been rebuilding the front suspension and I've hit a snag. I bought the suspension kit from Mancini racing, and it covered just about everything, except this last pair of bushings.:angry7: I'm trying to find out what the name of these bushings are, let alone where to buy them...
