Well, I am desperate, but not rich...so looking for the best price, whatever that is...just need to replace it with something that fits...I have seen OEM items for over $700...and some that look that they might work for around $150...but most are set up for automatics and the hose fittings are...

Help please....My radiator has begun leaking and I cannot find a reasonably priced replacement. Has anyone found an aftermarket replacement for the original slant 6 radiator in the 62 Valiant? TIA...

Runs fine with no VR...Charging 14.5 VDC at idle.

I removed the VR. It is now charging 14.5 VDC and it incrreases as I increase RPMs.

I WILL RUN IT WITH NO VR AND SEE...

Ran new wire from alt field to reg...no change

When I jumper this way it stalls...

OK ...I also measured the regulator resistance from ign to field poles and found the regulator has an open ...I have another regulator that shows a resisitance value other than infinity...

SO while it looks as if isolating the regulator solves the problem, it's hard to believe that 3 voltage regulators (2 new and one both solid state and analog) have gone bad...

Grounded the regulator well, still 12v...going to look at the inside tomorrow...see if I can find another egulator too...

OK. I'll look at the regulator and make sure it is well grounded too...

Maybe it is connected to I1, it has voltage in start and run...none in off.

Alligator clip on the field post of the regulator to the 2 wire ballast resistor post

I ordereed an ammeter and am going to put one back in and replace the voltmeter

SO are both my regulators bad? is this common getting 3 bad regulators?

I bypassed to regulator and it does get 14v at the voltmeter...it increases to 16 if I rev it...

There is 12 v on both sides of the regulator...I am going to try bypassing it as you suggested...
