Holley Sniper on 700 hp big bock

This is a Holley Sniper X Flow on a 505 inch Mopar big block. This engine is a little more radical than most street/strip builds. The owner went with higher than usual compression ratio, used Trick Flow 270 heads and installed a 264/268 solid roller cam. The nice thing about the...

    572 big block dyno test

Ran a 572 all aluminum big block on the dyno a while back. Drag race engine, Indy block, Indy EZ heads, roller cam, Wilson ported intake, EFI port injection with big 4500 flange throttle body. Nice engine, lots of good parts including dry sump oiling. Made 860 hp at 7000 rpm. Runs low 9's in...

Got the rear disc brakes for my Duster

Everything has been on back order this summer but I did finally get the 13 inch rotor kit from Baer for my Duster project. Also got the 17 inch Weld wheels and the 315/50-17 tires. So once my new 9 inch rear end shows up I'll be able to get everything bolted in place. Might even be able to drive...

    New 4150 style Sniper EFI

I just got the new 4150 style Holley Sniper EFI kits. I like the new design. It looks like it is going to work pretty well on a BB Mopar engine. Not sure when I'll have it running, could be a few weeks I suppose since I don't have anything ready to go right now.

    Holley Sniper Xflow

Holley has the new 900 cfm Xflow out so we got one to test. Ran it on a 505 inch big block and made right at 700 hp. This is a pump gas engine with Trick Flow 270 heads, a Comp street roller cam and a ported Indy intake.

    Battery box for small battery

I'm going to run a small lightweight battery in my BB A body car so I fabricated a smaller version of the factory battery box. I put it in the stock location since that seemed like a logical thing to do. I also added the starter solenoid to the bracket just to clean things up.

    Cordoba radiator in '72 Duster

It fits but it is a tight fit. I like how it looks, it has a very OEM appearance. I'm pretty sure this will keep the engine cool but I won't find out until the wiring is finished.

    Viper brakes on my Duster

Finished up the install the other day using Viper calipers, Baer 13 inch rotors and FMJ knuckles. I went with the S71 wheels from Weld since they allowed me to get the correct offset and width. I used a 17x6.5 wheel with 4.80 inches of backspacing.

EFI big block in Hot Rod

An article I did for Hot Rod: Adding Holley’s Universal Coil-Near-Plug Ignition System to a Big-Block Mopar - Hot Rod Network This was a 514 inch big block that made around 900 hp depending on which parts we were testing. This was the final test I ran with that engine. Engine was sold earlier...

What grille support do I have?

This upper grille support came with the Duster but it doesn't fit with my new core support. I figure I have the wrong one but I don't know enough about the various A body cars to know which is which. The core support has two holes drilled in it for the grille support but this grille support...

    SCAT superlight crank

Just got my new SCAT superlight crank. This is an RB crank with 4.250 stroke and 8 bolt flange. It weighs 64 lbs which is about 5 or 6 lbs lighter than usual. Nice looking crank, I like the extra features on the superlight version.

    Dual conical valve springs

Finished up the dyno testing using the dual conical valve springs on my low deck 470. This engine has the Trick Flow 270 heads and a big solid roller cam. Everything worked great and we made around 750 hp at 7000 rpm. The springs worked just fine with the super aggressive solid roller cam. Here...

    Pushrod oiling video

T&D rocker arms on my low deck 470 with pushrod oiling. The internal oil passage to the heads is plugged in the block so all oil is coming up the pushrods. It really flows a lot of oil, more than I expected.

EFI trigger wheel with stock water pump

I'm gradually getting my price list and website updated for 2018. One of the new products I'll have in 2018 is a trigger wheel and pulley that fits with a stock water pump housing and pulley. My previous EFI trigger wheels were all designed for race engines with Jesel belt drives since that is...

Change to '73 steering for header clearance?

My '72 Duster has small bolt pattern disc brakes on it as well as new Centerlines and tires. But, the old style center link comes out up rather than down. That doesn't work with the TTi headers so I'm thinking of swapping over to the '73 style center link which drops out down. So is it possible...

    470 dyno test article

Here is the latest dyno test article with my pump gas 470. In this article I tested a belt driven oil pump as well as a vacuum pump. Peak power was 775 hp on unleaded pump gas. The Wilson porting helped out a bunch as did the vacuum pump. With this kind of power you should be able to drive to...

    New shock plate design

I've been trying to figure out how to get the rear shocks mounted on my Duster. The shock plate that came with the Cal Tracs had the pin in the wrong location so I was a little stumped on what to do. Finally after laying under the car for a while I decided to build my own shock plates. I also...

The heads are out of the...

    Starting a BB Duster project

I have this '72 Duster that has been sitting in my shop collecting dust for 5 years. I picked it up from a friend of mine who hit some tough times but I just never had much time to work on it. I put it up for sale on Craigslist for $4900 which I thought was a super good price but not a single...

CnP (coil near plug) for big blocks

Just finished up the first set of brackets to hang smart coils above the plugs on a big block. This will allow me to get rid of the big MSD 7AL box as well as the MSD coil and the Jesel distributor. I've heard that the engines run a lot better with CnP, guess I'll find out shortly.

900 hp big block with EFI

Just finished a couple days of dyno testing on this 514 inch big block with sequential EFI. Tuning has never been so easy! We just click the mouse to change the fuel curve or the ignition timing. I'm using the Holley HP system on this engine which allows me to change the fuel by cylinder if I...

900 hp with Indy EZ heads

Had my 514 inch big block on the dyno this week. It has CNC ported EZ heads, a Super Victor with Wilson porting and a 1250 Dominator. We were testing different race fuels. The Q16 made the most power with just a hair over 900 hp. I'll post a couple of pictures and a link to a video.
