switching salvage title to clear title

It's title washing when someone in California tranfers the title to another state that will clear it, then brings it back to California and tries to retitle it here as clean. I would think this is how the felony thing would come down on someone the hardest. Another problem are states that...

    1966 Barracuda 440 build

Looks pretty nice so far. I'm anxious to see how that 440 fits. I have access to one, but not sure I'd want to go this route. I noticed you went with stripping the silver paint on the console. It looks great, but I'll tell you, you might change your mind down the road. The sun light flashes I...

    Question for welders /fabbers

Doing the kind of projects you described wont put you in the classification of 'welder' alone. That makes it a little harder to research pay scales. Most of the time the pay scale tables I see tend to be structured as 'typical'. In other words, if you look up welder, they assume you will be...

    FABO Small Block header IDEA*

Back in the day I was considering this prospect as well. Making headers is one of those things that appeals to my nature. It's like solving a puzzle. My problem is I have too much ADD to keep myself occupied with one idea. I've created a lot of little inventions that I always have big ideas to...

Electronic ignition upgrade / voltage regulator question

I've been using one of these since changing over to electronic ignition on my '66 Cuda. Found this link for Jegs. http://www.jegs.com/i/Mopar+Performance/312/P3690732/10002/-1 Haven't had any problems running the stock alternator. Don't know why it says for race only, seems to work just...

    8 3/4 transplant into my 66

Well, I took a look under the 66 tonight and measured the drive shaft. Mine is approximately 44 7/8" center to center. So I guess I must have shortened it and forgot. I did have an 8 1/4" rear with the original 904 in it for a short time before doing the swap, maybe I used that driveshaft...

Saw A New Camaro On The Road...

OK, sorry, but this is going to be long. Since I'm probably one of the few guys on this site that would dare claim to be a GM guy first and Mopar guy second, I thought I'd throw out my two cents. Let me start by saying I think the new Camaro is one of the ugliest cars to come out of this...

    Work truck...Chevy.

What year truck is it? Try checking the fusible links if the alt checks out. Earlier models have them down by the starter. Later models('87 and later style) have them at the starter and also under the black plastic relay cover on the firewall.

    8 3/4 transplant into my 66

I had a 360 in the car already that I modified the original mounts to work with. However, I used to eat up those biscuit style mounts so I fabricated some brackets that let me use the later caged bushing style mounts. Haven't had to look at the mounts since. Which is going to be a pain some day...

    8 3/4 transplant into my 66

I dunno, you might be right, it was 12 years ago. LOL! I'll have to crawl under the car and measure it. Maybe I did shorten it, if I did I don't remember. I am pretty absent minded.

what does your early abody look like?

Not the best pictures, but it's all I have right now. These pictures are about 6 years ago. The paint looks a bit worse now, but the wheels look a lot better.8)

    8 3/4 transplant into my 66

I did the same thing with my '66 Cuda. I picked up a '68 Dart GT that had a trashed body, but solid running gear. It had a 727 instead of a 4spd, but the same deal applies. I took the engine, trans, axle and driveshaft from the '68 and it was a straight bolt in on the '66. I even swaped the...

    Hey look, another new guy!

Hey guys, thanks for the warm welcome. I've been spending some time pouring though threads and checking out the members projects. Some beautiful cars here for sure. I did see the thread on the '66 Valiant conv. that had the T5 swap, well, among other things. Interesting thread, but I don't...

    Hey look, another new guy!

Hey everybody, just found this place the other day and just got signed up. Some basic info on me, I'm a Chevy guy at heart, but I love various cars from all across the board. Mopars, Fords, AMC's, doesn't matter to me much, they all have cars I love. While I haven't owned anything other than...
