    Magnum Head Rocker Arms

Oldsmobile studs. They have the 5/16 thread for the head and 3/8 for the rocker. I think we had Magnum guide plates.

    Magnum Head Rocker Arms

I agree with Junky, the factory rockers are actually really good. I tried a set of chubby rockers and could not get the geometry correct. Lost lift due to it. If running a chubby rocker, 1.65 ratio is needed to yield the 1.6 on a Mag.

    SS roller rockers EQ heads

That's the link i posted on his other thread. They are indeed a "chevy" rocker. They are a 1.65 ratio, so that they will yield the actual 1.6 on the Mopar.

    Magnum and Wiring Swap

So, what is actually "needed" out of the donor harness to make the Magnum run? I would imagine it's a little different between obd 1 and obd 2? Following along, thanks for the info!!

What do you think about this statement.........

I'm not sure on the spring pressure. We never ran them to find out. Was going to use these with 1.6 Chevy rollers, what everyone brags about doing on a Magnum engine. The geometry was dogshit. No matter pushrod length or where you had the rocker at, the loss of lift was horrible. Even by small...

What do you think about this statement.........

It's a conversion stud Comp makes to allow cheap roller rockers to he used on the Olds. I'll see if I can find a part number or link.

    They are an Oldsmobile stud.

What do you think about this statement.........

To the OP, I'm not debating if fulcrum mount or shaft mount is better. So, that being said, I did a dirt engine for a local racer that ran a B-mod for a couple seasons. 9 to 1, two barrel deal. Ran the Hughes race hydraulic, flat tappet lifters. Figured appropriate preload for the lifters. He...

    Reground Cam

Not sure when we'll have it done. Been acquiring additional parts. Almost there. This is an engine that has a few thousand miles on a re-ring and the good EQ 318A heads. I'm guessing in the next couple weeks we'll start on installing parts. Then getting it in the truck is another matter. Also...

    Reground Cam

As a side note, I received cam back yesterday. Let's call it an even 240 for the grind and shipping back to me. Now the fun begins...

    Reground Cam

I wrapped it pretty good and put it back in an old cam box. Sent it USPS Priority. Because it was a little long, I got knocked a few more bucks. At any rate, it was $36.25. I'm guessing shipping will be more for the ride back because they will pack it better. And that's fine by me! He quoted me...

    Reground Cam

Sent my core to Oregon on Monday. Talked with Ken again today to settle on a grind. I went with the 1280 on a 110lsa like @66fyssh has. He posted up the sound clip and I fell in love. So, thank you sir for that! Thanks to everyone for comments and suggestions. It will be a bit before it's in the...

    Reground Cam

This should fill the bill nicely. My son has a shitty old 99 half ton 4x4. We have a bunch of parts around to make it a fun mess around truck. Thanks again for posting up!

    Reground Cam

That's perfect!! If you don't mind, I'm going to request your grind. Already looking at a little looser convertor. Thank you so much for the video!!

    Reground Cam

I do not know. He seems to be popular with the guys here. I seem to remember some others being mentioned. Can not remember names though.

    Reground Cam

@66fyssh What is the idle like on your cam? As stated before, cam will be in a 4x4 truck. BUT, it will never pull a trailer or do REAL truck things. If it has a little rumpty-rump that would be perfect. Sent a core off yesterday.

    Reground Cam

The lobe separation is wider on the cars. He said like 115. Tighter on the truck engines. 110 ish in his words. More to work with on the regrind on the truck cams. It does sound good. I intend to follow up.

    Reground Cam

Talked with Ken today. $189.00 plus shipping to get a Magnum cam reground. Sounds like a plan to me. So I'll dig around, I think I have a loose core yet out of a 360. Said the big difference (as far as regrinding goes) was not between the 5.2 or 5.9. But, between the Mag truck engines and the...

    Reground Cam

Curious..... Which cam did you send in? 5.9 or 5.2? Or maybe they don't care either way?

    Reground Cam

Thanks for the input fellas! I got through today. Ken, I think that's who she said, would call me back. Didn't hear anything. But, that's ok. I'm not in a hurry and they're probably super busy. Would definitely be measuring pushrods with increased lift. My biggest thing was cost. I'm a tight...

    Reground Cam

Thanks for posting up your cam info! On a 110 LSA, does it still provide decent vacuum? Usually when that number goes down, so does the vacuum. This is going in a truck with power brakes yet. I like those specs though! I bet it does run well!

    Reground Cam

Has anyone had a cam reground for a Magnum lately? Was wondering cost. From reading through different threads Oregon Cams comes up quite a bit. Going to try to call tomorrow. Was just curious if anyone has done it lately. Will be going in a 5.9 with a "fresh" bottom end with the New Zealand 318A...

    5.2 Magnum Piston Question

Magnum heads interchange on Magnum engines. Magnum heads will bolt on an LA block also. There's a bit to deal with to make that work, so, let's keep it simple and not worry about that aspect. Mag heads on a Mag engine, yes. Those pistons look kinda high up in the bores? That would be groovy...

    5.2 Magnum Piston Question

The thing to look for is compression height of the pistons. Probably the same. No harm, no foul. Some LA had a higher height, therefore, a tick more static compression.
  28. 408 swinger

    5.2 Magnum Piston Question

My experience is that all the 5.2 Mag engines used the straight, flat top pistons. Those four valve relief pistons are more than likely from an LA.
