Which cam will work decently with stock magnum tune?

Going to 1.7 rockers woke my 5.2 up in my 97 Dak. Or the 262HR-12 comp cams. Pretty close to the Mopar R/T cam. Extra 2 degrees on both intake and exhaust, lobe separation is 112 compared to 114 for the R/t Cam and slightly more lift. I have both the 1.7's and R/T cam in my Dak. Really wakes it...

    eBay Reground Cam

Assuming you are happy with the final #'s on the cam, you could go with a 1.7 on the exhaust to gain back some lift.

Stock magnum heads cam roll call!

On my 97 dakota 5.2l I'm running the original r/t cam 204/208 @ .050". With 1.7 rr's lift works out to .487 in and .496 ex IIRC. Had zero issues and have run that cam for 40000 miles.

Educate me on 5.9 Magnum Roller Rockers

Unless you are looking to increase the ratio, I'd spend your money elsewhere. If you are at .506 lift with your cam now, and should be 1.6's with the magnums, going to 1.7's might require some work on the heads to accommodate the higher lift of .537.

    Magnum engines in A-bdy ???

Don't know if they are still available, but I have this intake on my 97 Dakota. Best direct bolt on in my opinion. http://www.manciniracing.com/newmagsinpla.html The beer barrel is definitely great down low. I know you can massage the runners by cutting them back about an inch to help the...

Magnum swap-what all mods can you make still using factory efi

I know the hypertech leaves some on the table, but I can't complain about the torque. First gear is useless if you hop on it from a standstill. It is just a 318 after all. I have the mpi intake like the one in the pic. The cam is the original R/T cam MP offered. The .050 specs are 204/208. I...

Magnum swap-what all mods can you make still using factory efi

The factory EFI does not like a narrow lobe separation on the cam. I have a 97 Dakota 318 with the following mods running on a hypertech tuner Cam 260/264 114 lobe separation .487" lift intake . 496" exhaust with 1.7 roller rockers M1 intake ported stock TB ported stock heads @.500" lift 243...

    5.9 Magnum FI cam upgrade

I don't think Dodge switched over until 97. Also have to watch the lobe separation, the stock FI will throw fits with a narrow lobe separation. I'd stay 112 or higher personally.

    5.2 and 5.9 magnum cam

Mopar offered it separate or in a package. I think Crane makes it now. Mine runs fine on the stock tune although I use the hypertech tune with the truck. There is enough room in the stock tune for that cam.

    5.2 and 5.9 magnum cam

Shouldn't have any issues with the tune. I had my stock 5.2 cam measured. It was 196 in 210 ex @.050 with .432 lift. wide lobe separation at 117. To be honest the original R/T cam that Mopar put out is a nice upgrade for the 360 and it's not aggresive enough to need a tune. 204/208 with .458...

    How To:Biggest Magnum TQ Monster

If you're going to put a cam in the 5.9, the R/T cam is a good choice. I think Crane makes it. 204/208 with lift in the .460 range IIRC (.458/.467). You do have to watch the lift with the stock mag heads. I have this cam in my Dakota with a 5.2 with many modifications and dynoed 247 rwhp 265...
