    The 5.2(318) magnum is internally balanced, the 5.9(360) is externally balanced. So two possible ideas are: Maybe you have a 5.9 and not a 5.2 Maybe that flywheel came off an LA 360.

    It does have a black wire that lines up with an orange wire at the plug, so I should cut the black wire then I guess. On a positive note, it works! I now have power at the brown wire in the crank position! Woohoo!

    I bought a new ignition switch, so when it comes in I will just plug it in under the dash and see if that gives me cranking power at the brown wire. If that doesn't work, it'll probably have a toggle switch like my Scamp.

    That's what I originally thought, but to have two cars in a row where the brown wire doesn't have power in the crank position made me think that maybe I was missing something. I still need to go out to the '71 D100, that is the next magnum swap, and see if I can find a crank position power wire.

    Old school LA 318 is a 5 bolt cover, and the Magnum is a 10 bolt. However I have seen guys use the LA Mopar performance valve covers on the Magnum, they said the 5 holes on the LA cover will line up with 5 of the holes on the Magnum head.

    I just bought a chrome Mopar Performance dipstick and tube for the LA motors with passenger car oil pan. Once I installed the tube, I used a little map gas torch to heat the tube and bend until it cleared the Alt/AC bracket that is used on the serpentine belt setup.

    I'd say if you're going to keep the EFI and drag race it, you need to replace the "keg" intake manifold. Either try and find an old M1 EFI intake, or get the Hughes magnum Air-Gap.

    I've seen kits to mount an alternator under the plate and then driven with a small belt off the crank, haven't seen anything for power steering, and definitely no way to install the accessories in the stock location to run the serpentine belt.

    I just looked at their motor plate. That plate pretty much blocks the area where the PS pump and alternator bracket would go. Yes, you will run into problems.
