    Ratchet shifter fit and look

Sidewinder. I just got through driving with it for 4000 miles. I like it. Not sure how one would skip shift from 1st to 3rd with this setup. How it looks w/ buckets back in car

Help needed with 3 point seat belt!

Hey, sorry for the delay. Been on the road for business. I'm pulling the car out this weekend for a 4th of July car show. I'll take some pics and post them up on Monday. Have a safe 4th of July, all.

    Fire Extinguisher Mounting Location

    Love that More Door Valiant.

    Fire Extinguisher Mounting Location

I might go that route. I'm pretty sure my welder could make one of those for about $15.

    Fire Extinguisher Mounting Location

That's a very good point. I thought about mounting mine further forward, but ultimately decided not to because my big *** feet would constantly hit it getting in and out of the car. Also, my floor pan is really irregular in that area and where I mounted it is relatively level.

Help needed with 3 point seat belt!

If I was you, I would upgrade to some new 3 point belts. I can't imagine almost 40 year old belts are going to be all that reliable when you need them to be 100% reliable. I can send you pictures of my new belt install on my 73 Swinger, if you like. I imagine the mounting location is the same...

    Fire Extinguisher Mounting Location

Good idea. I didn't think about the carpet and backing thickness.

    Fire Extinguisher Mounting Location

Did you mount it to the floorboard or the upturned plate between the sill edge and the floorboard? I was looking at mounting mine in the same location, but there's a lot of variation in floorboard height in that area.

    Fire Extinguisher Mounting Location

I'm looking for an ideal place to mount the fire extinguisher in my 73 Swinger. I can't use one of the fancy front seat mounts that sits just in front of the seat adjustment arm(s), as my floorboard is raised in that area. Also, my car doesn't have a cage to mount it to. Any suggestions or...

Best way to mount new seat rails?

My plates are made (w/ the exception of one that needs to be recut) and going on the car next week. One is missing from the photo, that I need to recut. The plates will be bolted in for now and welded in at a later date.

Best way to mount new seat rails?

Dropped my plate measurements off at the welder this morning. Eight 3/16" steel plates being made and should be done by the end of the day.

Best way to mount new seat rails?

I'll take measurements tonight and see how much room I have for reinforcement plates. I'll report my findings, based on my own application.

Best way to mount new seat rails?

I found a welding shop nearby that can make me some 3" x 3" plates made of 1/8" steel w/ rounded edges, predrilled for 1/2" bolts. Think that would be sufficient?

Best way to mount new seat rails?

Thanks for the reply. A couple of the holes (closest to door openings) pass close to the inside edge of the reinforcement plates. and don't allow room for further reinforcement. The holes closer to the trans/drive shaft tunnel have lots of room for a plate. What dimensions and thickness...

Best way to mount new seat rails?

My 73 Dart Swinger came w/ a bench, not buckets. As a result, the original 4 bolt holes (2 per side) are really far on the edge of the floor pan and are not an option. I drilled 8 new holes (4 per seat) in the floor and located the seat bracket where I want it. What is the best way to secure...
