I'm looking for a good steering box from a 1972 or earlier A-body. Close-ratio would be a plus. I'm looking for one that has not had the sector adjustment tightened, and is in good condition. I also have a couple of large-sector gearboxes to trade, if preferable.
I have two sets of 3.23's. One set is NOS, and the other set I was running with no problem until I switched it out. The NOS cost me $60 plus shipping, which I would sell it for. The used set I would sell for $20.00 and shipping.
Now that cbellamore is taken care of, does anyone have a trick for getting the coupler off the splined shaft? Even with the roll pin out, it doesn't want to come off.
Looking for ring gear carrier shims for an early 7.25" differential. The ones I have are marked with 3 red stripes and 3 yellow stripes. I need larger and smaller ones, or some kind of shim kit? Not a common item around the parts stores.
I made a set from some 2" square tube for the /6, and bought a set for the 340. The homemade ones were cheap, but the bought ones looked better. I got them from: http://www.uscartool.com/Aframeconn/index.html . Made in USA, of course!
It turns out there are two types of bolts for the 7.25 ring gear. One is a straight 7/16 LH bolt. The one I need is a 3/8 shoulder bolt. Anyone have some, or know where to get them?
Yay, I found it, along with other necessary stuff! Send me your address by PM, and I'll mail it. It's dirty, but not rusty. You can send me a check for the postage, if you feel prosperous.
I'm looking for the bolts that attach the calipers to the spindles. They are fine thread, with a pin that starts them in the spindle thread. I tried getting the ones for a Mousetang, but they are coarse threaded.
