    Tranny Rebuild Help 904

Thanks for all the help guys. Here are the two things I'm planning on getting. I want this tranny to be better than new. Any other weird seals I need? Also, I have the cheap Hooker headers on the 318. Is it going to be a huge pain in the *** to get the tranny out with them on? Because I refuse...

    Tranny Rebuild Help 904

$100? That's it? All I need is that kit? That's almost unbelievable. Transmission places are raking it in then.

    Tranny Rebuild Help 904

That is quite a comparison. I'm curious as to what kits are the main ones people are using these days.

    Tranny Rebuild Help 904

So I've finally come to the last part of the rebuild. I've got a 318 and 904 and looking to rebuild the transmission to stock. 72 Dodge Dart Swinger. The 318 puts out around 300 hp so nothing major there. To put it simply I know almost nothing about transmissions. I've rebuilt engines and all...

    What gears do I get?

I think the 3.55s are the ones I'm going to go with. 3300 isn't too much and this car isn't a commuter anyhow. Thanks for the help guys!

'75 A model 8.25 worth upgrading or leave as is?

I don't see what is so bad about the 8 1/4 rear end. I know a lot of guys on here are looking at it from a racing standpoint but I picked up an 8 1/4 out of a Satellite with 2.73 gears for free. The price of cleaning it all up, chrome diff cover, brake shoes and drums was about $150. That's for...

    8 1/4 B-body Rear End Questions

Now I remember, he told me it came out of a 70 Satellite or early 70s. Whats the fitment looking like for that rear end?

    8 1/4 B-body Rear End Questions

I had heard that you just need to remove the spring perches and not shorten the housing. Did I hear wrong? Of course I would like to run a 8 3/4 but budget is a big factor in my build so free is as good as it gets.

    8 1/4 B-body Rear End Questions

I have no idea what year. Is there a number anywhere that I can look up? Can I just swap the studs with those out of an 7 1/4? because I still have the original rear end that's complete.

    t5 swap in early abody

To be fair, I think it could only help your argument if you did say how to drive a stick the best way. And yes, common sense is not so common anymore so share with us what you mean.

    t5 swap in early abody

What is the right way to drive a stick then? Could you elaborate on the "right ways" to drive?

    8 1/4 B-body Rear End Questions

So I picked up an 8 1/4 b-body rear end for free the other day simply because it fit my budget and I was in need for a rear. It's in pretty good shape being complete and everything still turning and not locked up at all. The car that it's goin in is a 72 Dart Swinger and heard that it might be a...

    Looking at a pumpkin

Thanks for the info. I have a small bolt pattern car so I guess I'm looking for an 8 3/4 complete rear end. What kind of fabricating do I need to do to make it fit in my dart if it came out of a truck or van? Is it difficult to narrow it?

    Looking at a pumpkin

    This won't fit with the current axles? It's a 72 Dart with a 7 1/4.

    Looking at a pumpkin

I'm looking at this add on craigslist and here is what it reads: "Dodge/Plymouth/Chrysler 8 3/4 (non-posi) complete pumpkin. This is the heavy-duty one with an 'X' stamped on it! 323 (freeway) gears. Pulled from a 1970 440 Dodge Challenger about 18 years ago and has been sitting in my garage."...
