    Air shocks and Pinon Angle.

A buddy of mine, has a big block, 1970 Dart Swinger. He has air shocks because he likes jacking it up 70s style then lowering back down to normal ride height. Asked me if using the air shocks messed with the pinon angle. I told him that I didn't think so, but said I'd get some other opinions...

    Pinion angle w/driveshaft in.

Love to have a drive on hoist. My single car garage, is quite narrow. None, that I looked at, would fit in there.

    Pinion angle w/driveshaft in.

Reason being is I'm 70 and will have to do this by myself. Jacking the rig up, removing shaft. Lowering rig. Crawl under, take measurements. Jack rig back up, reinstall shaft, then lower rig again. My 72 Swinger is pretty low. Needless to say, I'm a lazy old fart.

    Phasing drive line?

Not causing a problem. Just thought I'd address it while I was setting the pinion angle. As noted. Shouldn't cause any problem As for the laser set-up. All I did was adapt a small round magnet, to the end of a laser pointer. Works great. Cost me 3.07+tax. I set it up on the pinion bolt and...

    Phasing drive line?

I guess I should have said that the laser point was about 1/4" to 3/8" off from the center of the pinion bolt.(to drivers side) The laser was set at center of transmission yoke. Laser was parallel . I was just eye balling the 1-2 degrees, at the laser. I'm asking the best solution for moving...

    Phasing drive line?

I don't know if that is the correct wording. Trying to set pinion angle on my 72 Swinger. Has 440, setting on an Altercation, 727, new balanced Al driveshaft, 8 3/4". I noticed, while I had the car in the air, that the tranny, looked like it was pointing a bit to the drivers side, in...

    Kick down servo pin?

Had a leaky trans pan. Took it to my mechanic, who said he couldn't seal the pan because of the gasket surface was not flat anymore and he couldn't get it flat enough , to seal all the way. So I ordered a new pan. He also mentioned that the kick down servo pin was leaking and could fix it...

    Rig creaping forward in neutral

Pulled out the B&M install manual, from my files, and went through the setup procedure again and everything works the way it should. As they say, when in doubt, read the instructions. The linkage was off. Starts in park. No spinning tires in neutral. Thanks for the info.

    Rig creaping forward in neutral

    Rig creaping forward in neutral

Noticed, on start up, that my rig seemed to want to move forward in neutral. So I jacked the rear up, so the rear wheels were off the floor and in neutral, they rotated, like the 727 was in forward. Any ideas? Thanks

    Measuring a drive shaft?

Getting ready to measure between the yolks, so I can have my drive shaft cut and balanced. When I put the tranny yolk in, should I fully seat it or seat it and pull it back a bit, so I can install the DS on the rear end yolk? When I took it off, it was a pain. Had no play to get the u-joint...

    trans crossmember removal?

Forgot to mention that there is no engine or trans in the rig. Trying to put a new trans mount in, but can't get to that tab, to remove the mount. Just thought that it would be easier if I took the crossmember off.

    Did something stupid! (727)

Pulled the pan from the 727 and then the filter. Dumb-*** me, didn't pay attention to where the three screws attached the filter. There's a lot of wholes and I don't want to stick something where it doesn't belong. Anyone have a pic, with the whole marked, where the filter attaches? Thanks

Was a /6, 904. Installing the 440 and 727 from my 73 Charger. The Charger has a spool trans. mount. The Dart has the below, set-up. I take it, that the trans. bolts directly through the two bolt holes, that are circled. Am I correct? Thanks
