    Which flexplate for a 383/727?

I'm having the entire rotating assembly balanced by the shop... crank, rods, pistons, and balancer. So I guess that would make it internally balanced, right? I know there are internal balance and external balance converters, so I'd want one for internal balance...

    Which flexplate for a 383/727?

I believe its a '71, but I'd have to check the s/n when the block comes back from the machine shop. It came with the '68 when we bought it.

    Which flexplate for a 383/727?

Well, we don't have a converter in hand. So as long as I match the flexplate to the converter the convertor bolt pattern doesn't matter in regard to engine ?

    Which flexplate for a 383/727?

Hi, We're building up a mild 383 for my son's '68 Dart, which will have a 727 trans behind it. The 383 didn't come with a flexplate, so I don't know which one to get: one for 11 1/8 inch bolt circle convertor, or 10 inch bolt circle convertor.? We plan to run a stock/near stock convertor...

Need to Replace Pinion Seal Again

Well, a close inspection revealed the leak to be coming from the seal to case joint, so we cleaned up the joint and pumped a little RTV in there. We'll keep an eye on it over the next several days.......... Better a static leak than a dynamic seal leak....

Need to Replace Pinion Seal Again

Yes, the rear is vented. While I'm at it, what is the correct name for the shaft saver bushing that I've been talking about? And who makes these? I can't seem to find it at NAPA doing a search.

Need to Replace Pinion Seal Again

On the last seal I installed I put grease on the back of the seal to hold the spring, RTV around the outside of the seal case, and RTV on the splines....... that's why I need to check to see where its leaking.

Need to Replace Pinion Seal Again

I'm going to remove the yoke and locate the leak area before ordering a shaft saver bushing.

Need to Replace Pinion Seal Again

This is the second seal installed since the rear was rebuilt last August. A shop that I trust did the first seal when they set up the gears, and it leaked. I did the second seal, using RTV around the outer flange, so I know that the leakage is coming from the seal to shaft mating area. With...

Need to Replace Pinion Seal Again

Looks like my last pinion seal replacement didn't stop the leak, so I'm looking at doing it again. Only this time I'd like to use a shaft saver also which will hopefully stop the leakage. Does anyone know the part number for a shaft saver bushing for a pinion shaft on a 741 center section ...

    leaky pinion seal replacement.

I'm in the same boat and have a question... What tool should I use to remove the pinion yoke? Will a gear puller work or do I need something more stout? Mark.

    Transmission Cooler Line Fittings

Here are the fittings I had made. As i said before they are 5/16 flare by 5/16 inverted flare. We installed them in the radiator and they fit great.

    Transmission Cooler Line Fittings

I have decided to have a machinist friend fabricate the fittings I need by modifying 2 standard 5/16 brass flare unions. He will machine off the flare on one end and then countersink that end to get the inverted flare shape. Assuming this works for me, is there anyone else out there that needs...

    Transmission Cooler Line Fittings

I talked to challengergary and he confirmed that the radiator fittings are 5/16 inverted flare.

    Transmission Cooler Line Fittings

I looked inside the radiator ports and there definitely are mating surfaces for inverted flare. Also checked it with a 5/16 inverted flare plug I had and it screwed right in. I did try to see if a pipe plug would screw in and it wouldn't. I'm going to re-check the cooler lines to make sure...

    Transmission Cooler Line Fittings

I just picked up a new champion radiator and am having trouble finding the right fittings to connect the transmission cooler lines. I need fittings that are 5/16 inverted flare on the radiator side, and 5/16 male flare to connect to the transmission lines, does anyone know where i can find these...
