I'm having the entire rotating assembly balanced by the shop... crank, rods, pistons, and balancer. So I guess that would make it internally balanced, right? I know there are internal balance and external balance converters, so I'd want one for internal balance...

Hi, We're building up a mild 383 for my son's '68 Dart, which will have a 727 trans behind it. The 383 didn't come with a flexplate, so I don't know which one to get: one for 11 1/8 inch bolt circle convertor, or 10 inch bolt circle convertor.? We plan to run a stock/near stock convertor...

Well, a close inspection revealed the leak to be coming from the seal to case joint, so we cleaned up the joint and pumped a little RTV in there. We'll keep an eye on it over the next several days.......... Better a static leak than a dynamic seal leak....

Yes, the rear is vented. While I'm at it, what is the correct name for the shaft saver bushing that I've been talking about? And who makes these? I can't seem to find it at NAPA doing a search.

On the last seal I installed I put grease on the back of the seal to hold the spring, RTV around the outside of the seal case, and RTV on the splines....... that's why I need to check to see where its leaking.

I'm going to remove the yoke and locate the leak area before ordering a shaft saver bushing.

Here are the fittings I had made. As i said before they are 5/16 flare by 5/16 inverted flare. We installed them in the radiator and they fit great.

I talked to challengergary and he confirmed that the radiator fittings are 5/16 inverted flare.

I looked inside the radiator ports and there definitely are mating surfaces for inverted flare. Also checked it with a 5/16 inverted flare plug I had and it screwed right in. I did try to see if a pipe plug would screw in and it wouldn't. I'm going to re-check the cooler lines to make sure...
