    output shaft bearing

    You're looking for a 206-LOE in BCA/National. Doesn't look like it crosses to CR/SKF.

    U joint help

The measurement is across the inside of the yoke. Where the lock rings fit into the caps. It'll be 2-1/8" (Moog/Precision 315G). The 2-5/8" (Moog/Precision 316) is unlikely. If you have the joint out, you can measure the distance between the lock ring grooves. You'll be damn close to either...

National part number is 8609. If that's not the number NAPA uses, they should be able to interchange it.

    AX15 trans any good?

I think the AX15 is better than the trans it replaced, but not exactly a performance trans. The gearing may be too truck-like, as far as gear ratios go. I don't have any first hand experience, 'cause my Jeep has a torquflite.

    kickdown cable

I also used the Lokar setup. Easy to setup, in fact easier to adjust than the stock linkage. Although, if both cables had been available in black rather than braided, I'd have gone that way. It would've been stealthier, as I don't have any other aluminum or chrome under the hood.

SUCCESS vs Trouble finding rear seal for Duster transmission

Ok, how about a National # 8935s. It fits the late 60's A745 trans, and it's listed as 2.254 OD, and 1.558 ID. Most likely somebody did a trans swap some time in the past.

I'm looking for pictures of eveyone's a518 install. The more the better. Lots of guys have done it, and there's lots of opinions on the swap. I'm looking for cold hard facts in the form of pictures. I have a rebuilt a518 on the floor of the garage at home, so I'm not interested in Keisler...
