    Ok...decided for now to just run the 7.25 in my 72 till I can find a decent 8.75...I know of a 78 volare with a 7.25 in it and was wondering if the axles are longer...I want to get the 4.5 bolt pattern...if anything I am going to get the backing plates and brake setup for the larger 10"...

    I believe you could just get th B&M flexplate that looks like it has a bite taken out... http://www.jegs.com/i/B%26amp%3BM/130/10239/10002/-1 ... so to speak and not need a the weight...I dont know if it will give you anymore stall but one from a slant 6 will...thats what I have behind behind...

    Found a 8.75 in a 65 or 66 coronet at the wrecking yard today...a chart I looked at says it is only 1.8 inches wider than the 7.25 in my 72 Dart....guy wants $150.00...it has 2.94 gearing I believe....when I turned the axle it felt a little tight and possibly needing new bearings...which I would...

    Well...measured it today...actually several...and all were 54" from backing plate to backing plate and 62" from wheel mounting surface to surface....seems a little too wide...so I guess the hunt continues... :angry7: I was hoping it would for the decent gearing

    alternatives to an 8.75- what about an explorer 8.8?

    If you dont mind me asking...what did they charge you? I live south of Salem and am going to need to know of what the rate is...if its too much here I will drive to Portland or have my friend whos a fabricator do it. Thanks in advance
