    driveshaft length rear diff swap

What is the source for that table? It does not have (or I don't see) either of my combinations - 66 Barracuda 273/904/7.25 or 73 Duster 340/727/8.25 Are the measurement from the center of the u-joints on each end?

    727 to a518 swap

Just in case you were unaware, this swap requires a good bit of tunnel surgery. See this sticky http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=178459

    True Trac Diff??

Definitely superior to the trac lok or other clutch type traction unit. A spool is ideal, but questionable on the street, and opinions vary widely on the safety and axle reliability for their street use. I replaced my trak lok with trashed clutches, on 40 or so runs (!) with a truetrack from...

    66 Cuda clutch/brake pedal assembly

I have a 66 Cuda parts car that came with a 3 speed on the column. Are the clutch/brake pedals interchangeable with other a-bodies, like a 73 duster? Are they worth anything on the open market? Wondering if I should pull them to sell (or keep), or just leave them on when I part the car to...

    Converter Manufacturer Choice

Decided to go with Dynamic - excellent reviews here on FABO, and Sean was helpful and knowledgeable. Seemed to be the best value for my $$, and felt most comforatable with them. I'll let you know how it works out, and the results at the strip. Jim

    Converter Manufacturer Choice

Ok, so I've read 30 different threads, and done my homework, and talked to several vendors. I have a 408 stroker into a 727 reverse manual tranny in a 3.73 Dana. Currently running a TCI Streetmaster 10" converter, about 2800 stall with about 10% slippage at cruise and through the lights, best...

    Shift-R-Gate

I have one on my 73 Duster with a 727 manual reverse. Works like a charm, but had to do a little adjusting and filing to get it to work just right. No more1-3 shifts for me!

    Rearend length diffrence?

The chart, at least regarding the "all" A-body 8.75 is incorrect, it should read 52.4", not 51.4". The 8.25 is 51.4"! I did the swap on my duster, from 8.25 to 8.75 width Dana, and I was able to drop the spacers, and still have 1/4" clearance. Below is a shot of the table contained in the...

    Dana 60 in a Duster:

No kill like overkill! I bought mine off a guy on eBay, it was narrowed to a-body specs (52.4" & 43"), and used Yukon 28" axles, green bearings. I used 11 x 2.5" brakes off of 70 B-Body. Nothing like a Dana peaking out from under the back of the car!

    Is a 8.25 safe with 3800 stall?

I agree. My TCI streetfighter, even after being rebuilt by PTC, has slippage aplenty. See http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=51093 for further info. When I buy another convertor, it will likely be from Dynamic, I have heard nothing but good about them. FWIW, I switched my...

    8.75 or Dana 60?

Yes. Greg got the housing from Timken, who used it to test bearings. He cut is down to 52.4", with 43" perch width. Fit perfectly on the Super Stock springs I had previously installed..

    8.75 or Dana 60?

    727 2-3 upshift VERY harsh

They (PTC) had it apart in about 10 minutes, but it took about 4 hours to get it back together. They installed a bolt-in sprag, and had to turn a couple of parts (drums, etc.) clean it up, and run it through their "dyno", a 6 cylinder engine with a couple of pressure hook ups and a drum...

    727 2-3 upshift VERY harsh

Differing speeds. The car is primarily a weekend streeter, with some strip duty. If I shift at WOT, it is still very firm, but a little overlap is noticeable. At less than WOT is where the harshness is most apparent. I've tried shifting anywhere from 1500 to 3500 rpm in partial throttle...

    727 2-3 upshift VERY harsh

I'm hoping it is just an exteral adjustement I can make. I do plan on bugging them, though! Also, since it is a Manual VB, there is no linkage hooked up to the throttle, it is entirely a manual shift.
