No names at this point. When the engine locked up, I thought it was something I did. When the valve cover came off, I realized it wasn’t me. I think I have 7/8 an engine of spare parts.

I rebuilt a 5.9 engine. Bored 030 , new pistons, rings. Polished crank, w new bearings. New cam, lifters, etc. etc. after going thru 2 sets of cracked heads, …. bought a pair from big name head Re-Man-fer. Cool… Everything is great. Until 100 miles into driving, Valve spring...

My opinion ….. Oils do break down over usage time and the viscosity changes. And a lot of dirt comes thru Crank Case Ventilation especially if not pulled from the inner air cleaner. But I’m not an expert. Just an old man with limited experience and internet access.

About year and ahalf ago I read where there was a hack thru the computer bluetooth function. But I’m sure the car would have to be on first. I hope they would have fixed that security hole by now. Too many people w too much time. Criminal minds never sleep.

Saw that too. I’m just going knock off the loose chunks around the guide. and some smoothing to the chambers. Have no idea in the chamber volumes. Should probably check before any work. Think the exposed unused spark plug threads be taken down?

Holes in the intake are from the valve cover bolt holes. Now the one in the chamber is of concern.

Really- 2017 castings. I’m thinking i got some reworked returns. No problem if they are ok. But really rough. Definitely not bolt on and go.

Best way? Some polishing rolls I guess. Taper down the guides too?

DITTO. Unless you cruise in the non-slippage rpm of the converter, you will generate heat. Determine the gear you will have to run. And it will not be a MPG gear.

Looks like guides were punched in after CNC was done. An aluminum chip around the guide chippped of with my finger. Even the rocker rail has deep gouge marks where it was machined (?) Beautiful on the outside, until you look close.
