    anybody seen this wine?

Yup- the variety store my wife managed a couple years back carried it.. I don't drink wine, but she brought me back one of the empty cartons. I think they're pushing it some calling the protruberances on the rear of a second-gen Valiant "fins"- still cool, though.

    I want this

Probably because they're awesome. The '66-'67 B-bodies are among the most handsome Mopes ever built, and wagons are inherently cool as all hell, so this is a win-win.

    67 Valient Signet Survivor.......

Assuming it's as solid underneath as what we can see, you'd be stealing it for anything under a grand, IMO- especially if it runs & drives. Here in New England, I'd be comfortable paying 2 for an A-body in that kind of shape.

A mopar on its way home

    That's a '72 Fury- one of my favorite C-bodies.

    God is taunting me...

It's not just a MI thing, it's a ME thing too.. I bought a '73 Dart when I was 17 that had worse quarters than that- and this was in 1993. Left to my own devices I probably would've just goobered the hell out of it with bondo, but my mom's cousin (he owned a '70 Swinger 340 at the time) came up...

    the perfect slant 6 burnout

Another sign that I'm old, I guess- I've never heard that term.. we just call 'em "rollbacks"- the result of a rollback is a nice "J strip". And I did put in the transmission explosion disclaimer... It's best to practice this maneuver in a vehicle you don't care about, like a GM product that's...

    the perfect slant 6 burnout

Wait for rain. Or snow- both my slant 6 Darts spun the tires like a sunovabitch in the snow. Powerbraking works- the throttle on my '73 used to stick sometimes when I was running around town; by the time the light went green the brake pedal would snap up like it'd been fired from a gun and...

bury my heart at wounded knee book

Good point.. of course, the natives were "savages" while us white guys were supposed to be "civilized".. It's in our very nature as primates, though- even chimpanzees and gorillas engage in "politics" within their own societies, often with bloody results. A couple more books to get aggravated...

    cool steering wheel lol

Ha! First thing I thought of, too.. When I bought my first Dart, I thought that hornring on the 3-spoke wheel was the coolest thing ever- until that February, driving around at night with no heater.. I'd probably make a shop clock out of it. In any case, if I saw that wheel at a yardsale for 5...

    Mopars in the Wild

Some pics from a local show yesterday- '54 Savoy I don't generally "reshoot" cars I've already got pics of- but this is a '57 DeSoto. :love7: If I saw it every day, I'd still photograph it. I love it's original condition, "daily driver" vibe. New favorite detail: piece of...

    Anyone own an AMC?

Love AMC products.. they had stylists and engineers not afraid to think outside the box, and they get even more crap from Chevy/Ford guys than we do. Never owned one yet, but I'll have my fingers crossed on Sept. 18 when the winning raffle ticket is drawn on this honey:

what's the worst thing mopar has done?

WHA?! I believe you meant to say, "Vinyl tops are awesome, and the day that Mopar gave up on them, they immediately went down the tubes."
  13. S

what's the worst thing mopar has done?

I agree with Justin.. never should have discontinued the slant. A bigger version to compete with the Chevy 250 and Ford 300 would be nice too. And they never should have moved away from what was (in my opinion at least) their greatest strength: rugged, reliable, simple people movers. The K car...

Saw some nice Mopars on the streets today!

Nice. Heck, even that green Chevy stepside parked across the street from the Barracuda is 32 years old at a minimum. In my area, the days of seeing stuff like that just driving around (unrestored, anyway) are long gone.

    The Mopar that slipped away

Man, ain't that the truth. Since I seem to be caught in a cycle of perpetually scraping the bottom of the bank account, there have been dozens- but the one that still pisses me off was summer '97, I was working for a friend of a friend (I thought he was a jerk, and I was right) dismantling...

    Goodbye BOF, we'll miss you!

I agree with Dustermaniac- this sucks. Gotta do what ya gotta do, though; I certainly know how that goes.. Hang in there. Getting Fern and Lump back together should be therapeutic, anyway. You know, Dr. Alfred Wight (better known by his penname, James Herriot) always said that the best therapy...

    dream car

Imagine the love child of a '57 Desoto wagon and an Aussie Valiant ute. 225 w/Hyper-Pak, pushbutton tranny, green inside & out with a white top.

return of the dodger power wagon?

Well said- but Chrysler's been doing almost nothing but "answering" other manufacturers since Virgil Exner was made the scapegoat for their disasterous "answer" to the Chevy II, the "downsized standard" Mopars. Last time Mopar led the way, IMO, was with the Dodge Caravan. As far as this truck...

    WIW - Marlin

'65 Marlin prod.: 10,327. '66, 4547. '67 (on the longer Ambassador chassis), 2545. Semi-relevant factoid- did you know the Marlin (called "Tarpon" in it's concept-car form) was originally conceived to be on the Rambler American chassis? 106", same as the first-gen Barracuda.

    Speaking of wagons..

The carpet and exterior paint need to go, for sure. I'd keep the seats and doorpanels, and paint the body to match.

CAR HUNT! or BOF & me car shopping!

The black sedan is a '59 Ford- very cool car. Not sure what blue car you're refering to, but I see the roof of a blueish car in the weeds behind the Ford; based on the shape of the C-pillar I'd guess it's a late-'50s Mercury with the reverse-slant "Breezeway" (it rolls down) rear windshield-...

What phantom mopars would you like to build

Wow, good question. Okay, first- the Aussie Valiant utes are awesome, but I'd have liked to see Ma Mopar start building them here in the late fifties. The Dodge Coronet is probably the platform they'd pick, but I fantasize about a '57 DeSoto ute.

    Mopars in the Wild

I once made an entire taillight for my '81 Mustang out of a couple coathangers and a roll of red lens tape- and this guy uses a plastic bag? That's a bit sad. Nice clean car overall, though.. Looks like a '67-'69 Barracuda parked in front of it?
