How many CURRENT owners of real '74 360 Duster 4 speed cars on here?

One showed up at the Lebanon TN show last year. Sherwood Green, 4-speed, white vinyl top with factory sunroof. Either an immaculate restoration or immaculate original. I didn't see pictures of it so far. I took pictures of it but hesitate to post someone else's car without their ok. Is the owner...

Modern re-creation for those old window graphics?

Hey everyone: My 1969 Dart sedan has an ancient dealer-promo window graphic in the rear window that I would like to have reproduced if possible because it is so neat. I am guessing this was some type of decal transfer. I didn't know that stuff existed back then and this is the only car I've...

1963-69 starter question, and it's a good one...

Good evening: Let's see if anyone knows or pretends to know the answer to a question I will include near the end of this post. First, some factual information- At least as far back as 1962 and lasting through most of the 1969 model year, Chrysler equipped vehicles that had automatic...

I hope I never have to buy another Precision seal as long as I live

So i've been building a couple 4-door 67-69 sedans because I wanted practice before doing my Swinger and Scamp. Both needed windshields, so I ordered the first one from somebody that carried Precision gaskets, because they were CHEAP. Well here's a warning to those cooler than I who might...

Probably one of the last 1975 Dart Swingers produced

1975 VIN. LH23C5B3892XX. I'll get some pics lol.

Probably one of the last 1975 Dart Swingers produced

I recently rescued a '75 Swinger almost sight-unseen that turned out to be a really decent car underneath the dirt and rat poop. What is mildly interesting is that it was built at the VERY end of production for that model year. The Scheduled Build Date and the tag is is 919, which would have...

Swinger/Scamp rubber plug on inside of door

Hey guys: What is the purpose of the small rubber plug on the inside upper door frame just aft of the remote mirror control, other than to generate questions about it's purpose. Both doors have it and I've seen them as far back as on a 1967 Dart GT. My guess is that there is a screw behind...

Any Turbine Bronze '68 Valiants left?

Just curious if anyone has spotted one of these in recent years. Granted, Valiants aren't first on the radar when looking at old Mopars, but this is an uncommon paint shade that was originally used on the Chrysler Turbine car, then as a spring '66 color, then as a regular option for 1967 and...

Funny tag on fender- what is it?

I pulled this one from an early production '71 Demon that was t-boned decades ago and wound up in a junkyard. Rare(meaning not popular) Formal Black too. Built at Dodge Main. Had a '73 Dart Sport also built at Dodge main that had the ribbon style inspection tag and a '69 Dart built there that...

Here's the part installed on the car. Fits great, can't beat original parts!

uncle tony's garage gets called out by the roadkill guys

As far as I'm concerned it would be one hack against another hack. I've watched roadkill and I read Tony Defeo when he was editing Mustang mags in New Jersey. The entire thing is to feature product placements.

    Name that part...

You mean the ORANGE glove? Why, that's exactly right! I should have explained that I used an old picture where I was holding a totally random part that had nothing to do with this thread.

    Name that part...

I know what it is, since I pulled it, but I never knew it existed and haven't seen one in person until now. This one probably wouldn't exist if it hadn't been on a '71 Demon that got t-boned 30+ years ago and put away. On a Slant but I'm confident it could be found on V8's as well.

New copper/brass rads, are they made like the old ones? Answer's inside.

That's certainly possible, but this one is brass and copper...it's just that everything is thinner. The fins are like paper. The side panels are simple sheetmetal without any of the molded-in reinforcements the Chrysler version has.

New copper/brass rads, are they made like the old ones? Answer's inside.

Wow. So the first thread I read here after a long time was the Shady Dell thread. What a mistake that was. Also, I edited this post to remove those links to products that i didn't intend to be in this thread. If you pay me...I'll advertise stuff for you. Otherwise don't put them in my posts...

What's the worst "nest" you've found in an A-body?

LOL there are some funny stories in here, especially the electrocuted ground hog...hahaha.... Well I got that mess out of there finally. The SOB packed it all the way back to the wiper motor. It filled a 13 gallon trash bag up. It had to be some version of a squirrel because the thing pulled...

What's the worst "nest" you've found in an A-body?

I have this monster waiting on me to clean it out tomorrow. It stretches all the way across to the instrument cluster. It's in a '69 Dart I bought a while back. I knew it was there and I wanted to pull the glovebox liner out anyway because Dodge Main taped a build sheet to the back of it...

Anyone aggravated by repro parts that don't quite fit?

I am. A lot of the enjoyment of installing new parts to replace old, unusable pieces has been diluted because of the extra effort needed to make something fit, when it should just drop right in or on. 1. Reproduction '67-69 A-body washer bottle for non-electric washers. It looks nice, made...

Don't ever use a Haynes manual for anything other than kindling

Gonna make this a short, embarrassing confession. I wasted several people's time and made a fool of myself looking for a "correct" '68 slant kickdown rod based on believing the Haynes manual rather than the FSM. Not only was the haynes manual flat out WRONG, but they take pictures from the FSM...

    Lost dealerships

Hey guys: I always find it very rewarding to find out which dealership sold any Mopar I buy. I struck out a few times at first with no paper trails, but the last 3 cars I've bought, I had either a decal, voluminous paperwork, or both. My '66 300 coupe came with every paper it ever had...

    Car Value & VIN Question

That's absolutely correct. Partial VIN on the engine & trans didn't start completely until model year 1969. Some late '68's may have had them as well. If you are going to put the correct engine and transmission back in a pre-69, you depend on casting numbers, date codes, and the part number on...

OEM?? ANCO wipers removed from 73 dart sport 340

My '66 Chrysler has them, 18" versions. I wish you guys would stop throwing those original wipers away and putting on those tacky black plastic POS blades. These cars never, NEVER came with those plastic wipers. That was a marketing thing to get people trained to start using the much more...

    Buyer Beware - Rick Ehrenberg

How come nobody ever pulled the oil pan off before buying it? Can't you see the bottom of the bores that way? I'm glad I don't believe in name recognition. Ehrenberg? Who cares. I guess everyone needs a hero. I build my own sh*t, even if I do it wrong.

WTH is Scotty Kilmer's problem, anyway?

About the only thing I admire about Scotty Kilmer, it's that he figured out how to work Youtube early on. If you are a Youtube partner, as I am, you gain access to ways to optimize your viewership, and Kilmer's hit every one of them. They remind you that the average person only has enough...

WTH is Scotty Kilmer's problem, anyway?

This has been beat to death, but these days Honda, Toyota, Kia, Hyundai, Nissan and VW are produced here in the USA. They make Toyota engines about 20 miles south of here(Huntsville), Nissan engines about 50 miles east(Decherd), VW's in Chattanooga, Kia in West Point, GA, Hyundai in Montgomery...

1978 Aspen Super Coupe, what's underneath them?

Thought I would post a drive after I rebuilt the trans. WARNING: I am from the south, so if you are traumatized by Gomer Pyle, Billy-Bob Thornton, Deliverance-type accents, you may not want to watch. You've been warned. Also, before anyone states the obvious, that car was weak sauce. I drug...

WTH is Scotty Kilmer's problem, anyway?

If you prefer to watch sub-5 minute videos that teach you absolutely nothing, watch Scotty Kilmer. If you would rather watch somebody fix a car the right way, and you learn from it, watch(among others) South Main Auto. Predictably, at this point it looks like more people want to be entertained...

1978 Aspen Super Coupe, what's underneath them?

Hey guys: Just a follow-up on this.... I decided to pass on it, because it didn't appear to be worthwhile. Maybe for the rear end, but otherwise, nah. From the limited amount of information I could glean, it seemed like just a regular Aspen with a rear sway bar stuck on. I reached out to the...
