    Red Line Gauge works

Used them for the rally gauges on my 70 Dart Swinger. Was very impressed with the quality of their work. Called me to go over exactly what I wanted and what it would cost. Got them back and they looked like brand new. And that included the look of the circuit board and the update to the...

how did you learn to work on cars?

Back in '61 dad was stocking groceries at a store, got laid off and went to work for a local mechanic shop. It wasn't too long after that, he was laid off again, and while looking for another job, happened into an auto repair shop owned by a fine older gentleman. Dad asked for a job, and in the...

how many dart generations are there?

If your talking about the organization, 'Moral Majority'......it wasn't founded until 1979......long after the Dart was out of production. If you're talking about a bunch of 'preachers' complaining about the 'Demon' moniker, I'll agree with you there! Ben.

    Bench or buckets ?

I might want to take exception to that 'grandma vibe' green seat!! But then again I am married to a grandma! Ben.

    Bench or buckets ?

Having that bench seat made it a whole lot easier for your date to sit closer to you on a week end! I guess she could sit on the console, which probably explains why a lot of those plastic consoles had big cracks in them???! Ben.

    Bench or buckets ?

Thanks for the further info, Rani....alas, mine was gold and did not have the fender mounted turn signal indicators. The search continues.......Ben.

    Bench or buckets ?

that fourth picture showing the tan bench seat with the floor shifter looks like the interior of my old 69 Dart Swinger 340 I've been looking for, for almost 35 years! Same color exterior! Could it be?? Ben.

    Pics of your Mopars!

    New Dart Stripe?

picked mine up from 'challenger gary' here on FABO. Fast delivery, good price and it went on without too much trouble. Believe he has an ad in the 'Mopar exterior parts for sale' section of the forum. Ben

    PayPal safe?

Jim: Had the same 'scheme' thrown at me a few months ago. Contact Paypal.....they have a separate department that handles this very scenario. It's part of the 'nigerian scam'. If I remember right they wanted the Western Union amount sent first to a location in Maryland, and then Paypal was...

HELP! Body Number Location on 70 340 (H Code) Swinger

Not sure if all of those 'hidden' VIN numbers were originally done to satisfy a car owner or potential owner of the authenticity of the car. I would assume that more than likely they were added so that say an enforcement agent, such as a policeman or an MVD agent could make sure that a...

HELP! Body Number Location on 70 340 (H Code) Swinger

Yes the fender has to be removed to see the one on the top of the inner fender. The one in the rear requires the trunk rubber seal to be removed from the lip to see. Ben.

HELP! Body Number Location on 70 340 (H Code) Swinger

found the VIN stampings on my 70 Dart Swinger on the top edge of the right side inner fender apron, underneath the lip of the fender where it attaches to the inner fender, about a foot forward of the right side firewall. Also found the number stamped underneath the trunk rubber, on the metal...

Cool cars you found but owner wouldn't sell !

one other story......as a 15 year old kid back in the mid 60's, my path from school to my house, (walking of course!), took me by a house where a lot of old cars were parked. There seemed to always be a flurry of activity going on there with race cars and such. Parked in the drive way, off to...

Cool cars you found but owner wouldn't sell !

was working in an APCO gas station, while in college in Springfield, Mo. in 1970, a place where a lot of the local muscle car guys would come for cheap gas before Friday night races out on Glenstone Ave., in front the station. One of the regulars came in one night wanting to sell his 69 Super...

Cool cars you found but owner wouldn't sell !

A couple of years ago, before I purchased my 70 Dart Swinger 340, I spent a great deal of time scouring back yards and alleys here in Tucson, looking for the 69 Dart Swinger 340 I had back in the early 70's.(The car in my avatar!) Loved that car, but had an itch for a Z-28, so I sold it to a...

Talk About Your 1969 Dart 'Swinger 340'

got my favorite of all time 69 Swinger 340 from a used car lot in 1972 for 1500.00 dollars. Gold, with a brown interior. 4 speed, power steering and the base model hub caps. Had a lot of fun with that car! Sold it in 1974 to a 16 year at my church just before I moved to North Carolina. When I...

I did the same, and don't see that there will be a problem, unless you run into an inspector at the emissions station that does?! Ben.

    Salina Car show day II

GREAT pictures! Thanks for posting. Especially liked the Metropolitan....had an elderly customer who bought one new back in the 50's and had me service it every 6 months, whether it needed it or not. Last time I saw it in the mid 80's, it still had less than 20,000 miles on it! Ben.

What is the most desirable year for the Dart?

My personal preference is a 69 Dart Swinger 340 4 spd.! But I sure am having fun putting a 70 model Swinger 340 together! Ben.

anyone here ever painted their Edelbrock intake?

Painted the 6 pack manifold on my 340 because I thought it would look better, since I have polished aluminum valve covers. Also, Chrysler painted these manifolds hemi orange on both the AAR Cudas and T/A Challengers....if there was a problem associated with painting them I doubt they would have...

    Show your scoops!!!!!!!!!!

I always thought that the '340' emblem looked out of line on the 'ram charger' type of hood scoop......but I guess the emblem is supposed to look parallel to the ground and not the lines of the scoop? Hopefully not a case of an assembly line worker in a hurry?!? Ben.
