    418 W2 Stroker - troubleshooting help?

My stroker is finally running like a beast, after 2 years of bad shops and mechanics, but in the past few months sometimes while cruising at a steady RPM it just cuts out. Like a total loss of power, feels like it would if the choke is closed, but its not cause I have it wired open. Reving it...

    Save the W2's

Yup, having cast iron sleeves pressed in just to make sure there is enough meat to keep the geometry right. Lesson learned, dont take your Mopar stuff to a Chevy shop.

    Save the W2's

I sent it for a port/polish/blend. Thanks for the input. I was worried that there was not enough metal left. I definitely want to put these back on the 340 and get it running again.

    Save the W2's

Look at what the engine shop did to my beautiful, unmolested still-in-the-box W2 Econo heads by overpolishing. More thah half the valve guides look lke this. Complete disaster. Gonna see if they can be saved by getting them drilled out and sleeved and a proper valve job. you can guess how pissed...

418 Stroker - Opinion on fuel problem please?

My freshly built stroker is intermittently running really bad then really good. Oil is fuel fouled after only about 40 miles. Smokes (blue) when runnng bad, then seems to clear. I am not a mechanic but not an idiot either. A float is stuck or something causing too much fuel to be dumped...

Anyone running a kevco 6qt pan?

Just had a bad experience with the Kevco M301 6 quart pan for my 340. It arrived in a condition I found to be unacceptable, which was that the top lip of the pan, where the gasket goes and where it bolts to the block was wavy and bent around the entire perimeter. I called them and was told it...

    418 W2 Stroker - Dazed and Confused

I am aiming for 5800-6000 RPM. Was hoping I do not need to go much higher than that. Oil mods would be a Milodon pan and pickup, and I'll look into an oil pump.

    418 W2 Stroker - Dazed and Confused

Thanks to all. Can someone confirm that no oiling mods needed (other than a 7 quart pan and pickup) if I stick with the hydraulic roller cam and retrofit lifters?

    418 W2 Stroker - Dazed and Confused

I don't have the flow numbers with me but will get them. Also should have mentioned, I want to drive this on the street with a periodic trip to the strip. This is my first stroker build so I dont want to screw it up too bad.

    418 W2 Stroker - Dazed and Confused

I've been searching and reading old threads hoping to find the right advice for my build. I am down to camshaft selection now and asking for help. Here's what is going on with the stroker.......... 1973 340 block, .040 over, Eagle forged crank, Ross forged pistons, 10:5 to 1 W2 Econo Heads...
