    sounds to me like it might have been lean adn it ate a piston or gasket...? also.. ?? ......could be something simple...but white smoke is coolant. pull the rad cap off then start it up...if you got puff puff puff in there.. its head gasket.. fwiw cheapst

    going past the max flow will help hit peak port flow twice...once on the way up and again on the way down... the problem with these irons...is they get turbulant..so you dont want to open the valve too far past max flow -into a turbulant point/zone.. this will kill efficiency.. your point...

    well?...these current heads were done ...partly by me..and partly by someone who ..i am no longer associated with..and at this point..people arent calling him a professional...So i wont...... this being said...ive done most of what has been done to these as far as porting..or i could do it...

    the boy in the pass seat is my son and was about 4 in that picture..... he just turned 13 today.....lol.. fwiw..the 340 dart stick...had a .490" lift solid ft.. in it.. that car was stout...reall nice torque for a 340...it ran 12.70's but it did have glass bumpers,hood, and no back...

    I agree with Brian here.... x2 in the indy -1's just buy them from a vendor not from indy. Brian thats impressive on those Brodix heads...personally id rather have pushrod delete option on all teh heads. available..fwiw cheapst.

    I think I really scewed up during initial start up...

    :compress: its the balast resistor...replace that..its cheap. while its at 2500 break in youll want to blip the throttle each 30 seconds or so...also... .dont just let it set at 2500...move it around a little. all while staying above 2500 also keep a garden hose handy to drizzle over teh...

    will J heads work on a 318? And many many more questions.

    you can use them no problem.. too large a int valve...may get shrouded by teh cyl..wall.. but...thats really only getting picky.... cheapst

    349 CI on the cheap

    my question is.... i read its got a 3.51" crank stroke? now.. how do 318" pistons clear that stroke? the counter weights will interfere with the pad material below the pin location...and hit the crank? yrs back i wanted to put pop up 340 pistons into a 360 block and crank.. and the counter...
