    Uh-oh need your input.

Right! That's what I'm saying Talk about piss poor professionalism & mostly piss poor business practices if that be the case

    Uh-oh need your input.

X2 ....... Sketchy at best. I'd go have a nice chat with them, don't forget to have a short chrome chain wrapped around your right or left fist while chatting with them. Just a suggestion, not telling you to do the latter lol ;-)

Any thoughts on this engine issue

Completely agree, now that I remember, I had a 76 Dodge truck for a few years. It always ran decent, but after I rewired the dash & eliminated the Ammeter so the current from the alternator went directly to the battery, I found that the truck seemed to run MUCH better, so yea, I really could see...

Any thoughts on this engine issue

I don't blame ya one bit, I wouldn't want to tear it apart either if I don't have to. Watching the timing light in the video again, I am going to rule out the cam lobe & go with the 73Abodee, DartGarth, & DFX on an ignition/wiring issue

Any thoughts on this engine issue

I agree, seems that it would be an arcing issue causing the miss, &/or bad or poorly grounded ignition box, &/or bad coil, &/or short in the wires going in between every one of these components along with the distributer

Any thoughts on this engine issue

What he said, lol  DartGarth made a good point as well, had to go back & watch the video again, & yes, the timing light IS skipping.

Any thoughts on this engine issue

lol, I kinda have the same motto. I used to live near Pittsburg, too bad I'm not still in the area, I would gladly drop by to lend a hand. We just moved here a little under a year ago, I was there when all the flooding happened, talk about terrible. I helped get quite a few vehicles dried out &...

Any thoughts on this engine issue

Very interesting, I just fixed a similar issue on a friends 72 Chevelle, fouled plugs & all (I am the Hot Rod Chevy & Ford Mechanic out my small group where I live) I may be new to Mopar, but a 4 cycle motor motor is a 4 cycle motor regardless of who the manufacturer is, & I completely...

Thanks CudaFever! This info is very much appreciated.

Optimal Year Models of 360 Engines to Look For

I've done a few searches here & there. I'm still not sure, right now I'll just plan on trying to find a '87 - 91' 360 unless someone knows rather the 360's made after 1991 came factory with a roller cam. Thanks, Rob

Optimal Year Models of 360 Engines to Look For

So am I to assume that all 360's made after '89 were roller blocks?

360 Small Block - Very Streetable / Occasional Strip Engine Recipes

Very true, didn't think about that. Thanks for mentioning that. I'm still reading books & threads in here doing my homework before I buy the engine & the parts. I will definitely keep that in mind.

Thank you, much appreciated. I will start a build thread once I get my engine / transmission / rear end plan squared away.

LOL, Would love to come across an AMX, but nah, I'll stick with the original plan :toothy8: I like our little Valiant

I checked, it's an AMC motor, nevermind on that one

360 Small Block - Very Streetable / Occasional Strip Engine Recipes

The Wagoneer was made by Jeep, & you do raise a good point, I forgot at the moment that AMC did make a 360 as well. I'll go check the motor out anyway, but if it is an AMC 360, I'll pass on it.

360 Small Block - Very Streetable / Occasional Strip Engine Recipes

wow, now that's a lot of lift, lol. I may go with a bit milder cam than that, but definitely looks like it will make some serious power.

360 Small Block - Very Streetable / Occasional Strip Engine Recipes

Just found a good running 360 out of a 77 Wagoneer, that originally came with a 4 bbl carb, which is still on it. It is complete with all brackets, alternator, A/C compressor, etc. I just visited with the owner & I am going to look at it this evening. He says it has about 70,000 miles on it...

360 Small Block - Very Streetable / Occasional Strip Engine Recipes

I completely agree, & was VERY impressed when I read the thread. Definitely gave me a better idea of what to look for when I go looking for the 360 I will use for this build, along with heads for it.

I'm going to share the link to that thread in here in case anyone uses this thread for reference for their build. Great read, but if it's not the one you're referring to Bomber, let me know. http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=167865&highlight=head+porting

Oh I'm very hands on, will be doing all the work myself except for machine work & internal trans work. Gonna let custom shops do that. I'll check it out, thanks for the reference.

360 Small Block - Very Streetable / Occasional Strip Engine Recipes

Also, I would like to add that I currently do not have any "J" heads, if I cannot come across some, what would you guys recommend for your second & third choice as far as heads?

360 Small Block - Very Streetable / Occasional Strip Engine Recipes

Thanks Bomber, that's good to hear, & I don't mind spending a little more on a cam. Should I still plan to use the "J" style heads with the roller block?

360 Small Block - Very Streetable / Occasional Strip Engine Recipes

Thanks guys, now, though I have another thread asking the same question, with the setup I want to go with, would a late 80's to early 90's roller block still work, or do I need to get an earlier block to go with the cams we have been talking about?

360 Small Block - Very Streetable / Occasional Strip Engine Recipes

Thanks, & will do. I appreciate the piston reference & will definitely look into them. Oh, it is much appreciated, & yea, I figured that setup would probably be good for about 350 - 400 horses. I think the number they got were from the Barstool Dyno.

360 Small Block - Very Streetable / Occasional Strip Engine Recipes

I do agree with you guys, I don't see those combos making 400 horses, no way. I know the Mopar motors seem to be quite a bit tougher, but I dang sure know you wouldn't get near those numbers doing the same to a similar displacement Chevy or Ford motor. I would love to see how they run on a true...

lol guys, thanks. I really think I'm gonna go with number 8 from the Moparts list Rumblefish put in his first post, thanks again for that link by the way. Any thoughts on that setup?

360 Small Block - Very Streetable / Occasional Strip Engine Recipes

I will call it streetable if it will idle at about 1,000 RPM at a stop light. Doesn't have to be a very smooth idle, would prefer it to be a bit "lopey" at an idle, but still be able to idle & have somewhat decent vacuum while at an idle. Cruising speeds from 45 mph to 90 mph, RPM range from...
