    Carb suggestion for 360

A 750 Proform will work great and is one of the cheapest carbs on that dyno chart and was ahead of the game up to 3400 rpm...The bigger the carb the more power you can make but where in the power band is important to the kind of driving of the vehicle and whats most important to the owner. I...

    Is anyone running a 4.7L???

I ordered a brand new 2000 Dakota with a 4.7 and 3.91 gears. Drag raced it for three years strait and sold it with 43 thousand miles on it. Ran low 15 teens with drag radials.I changed the oil all the time and never had a problem. I have heard of problems with them though. Last new vehicle i...

    340 Vs 360

:happy1:....................All engines make power -- but how you use the power you have --- is everything. Many cars with less powerful engines are beating cars with more powerful engines. The power to the rear tires and the weight of the car is all that matters ----outside of traction.

What real difference does the lsa on a cam make?

All things being the same in a cam grind, except the Lobe Separation Angle itself.......... a 108-LSA will close the intake valve sooner then a 110 -LSA .....for example. If you wanted to run a cam with a given duration that compliments your compression and or the type of fuel you wanted to...

    Predict my E.T ....

Convertor...........needs at least 4500 stall. 340'S run better with gear and stall. 12 seconds on juice....13 seconds on motor. With convertor....12 seconds on motor and high 11 seconds on juice. That's a really big tire for 3.91's. I believe it's a 30 inch tall tire. That's like running a...

    225 @ 50 cam in 318 //6200 rpm??

I found out what the clunking was-----front u joint. I think so to rumble..... True oldmanrick-----I think some big torque engines are shifted closer to the peak power band or in a light car with big cubes.

It's a 108 lobe separation angle.(lsa) I just installed the new radiator and it cooled off some. 225 @ 50 cam in 318 //6200 rpm??

Well i went to the track again tonight to try and get some tuning done on the 67 cuda and enjoy some bracket racing also. Best 318 heads

1967 318's also had the 920 casting closed chamber heads. Same castings on the 273 in 67. The 67 318 i have has 920's on it. Unless someone took them off a 67 273 and used them on the 318 i traded. I always wondered why 67 was the only year for closed chamber big and small block.

    timing on 67 273?

I would follow iskys specs for break in lash settings. call them and ask. I would re-check the valves lash settings once the motor hits operating temp.(hot) Then continue the break in. I would set the total timing at 32 to 34 for the break in. I always liked 20 to 25 minutes at 2200 rpms. Do 10...

    Blueprint Engines 408ci Mopar Motor

    416 issues - losing patience

Your best dyno numbers were with 72 jets in the front and 81 jets in the rear ???? You wrote 81\72....I assume you ment 72's in the front primary. A stock fan is the best for cooling but takes a little power from the engine. Check the plugs just to make sure it isn't lean. I bet the electric...

    timing question

You can use a vacuum gauge also. At idle bring your timing up to max vacuum on the gauge and then back it down 2 to 3 from the highest reading on the gauge at idle. This is a fast way of getting you in the ball park for advancing your timing past the stock setting. As far as the timing mark...

    M1 singleplane vs rpm airgap

A M1 with a four hole spacer works great. I run the M1 on my 360 and it has very good torque. The M1 is ment for stock port cylinder heads and is ment for the rpm band you are running in. The cam you have wants a single plain. The combination is more race then street. Both will work...
