Mechanical Cooling Fan broke during 6000 rpm burnout.

This guy drives on the real highway, in Germany. He should go electric. A nice Flexalite on an electric thermostat in a aluminum shroud will hook him up right. Mean318, I can put a package together if your interested. Very simple installation and will make your cooling system run a consistent...

What does the temp guage use, a screw in sending unit? I put mine in the intake. I had to use a threaded adapter.

    Front "Wing" good for 15 - 20 F COOLER

If ya spend all the time and money to get a car restored, why wouldn't ya do it right??? The 68 dart ( 1 bad 68 ) in the picture with the chin spoiler looks pretty lame with the paint job behind the grill making it look like it is not done!

    recomended Radiator?

I'm runnin' a real nice Griffin aluminum 2 row. the tubes are big flat ovals. I made a custom aluminum box style shroud and mounted my 16" 2950 cfm fan in it. I had to add a shield to the top of the cutout to keep the heat off the intake/carb! What is your budget?

    Getting too hot

Maybe you are just a little thin skinned, huh?:bootysha: I have an aluminum radiator and a 16" elctric fan on a temp switch. If the fan ever died while I was out and about, I could still drive it home. The fan only comes on at idle....but what do I know?:toothy10: P.S. I guess you never...

    Getting too hot

I don't have a truck. :thebirdm: The majority of cars on the road today have electric fans. They keep a more consistent temp regardless of engine rpm or vehicle speed. They also only work when they are needed. If you are worried about an electric fan failing then I think maybe you worry too...

    Getting too hot

What water pump are you running? There are a few electric pumps that do hold up and perform well on the street. There is nothing wrong with electric fans either. Look under the hood of almost every new vehicle on the market! A 180 thermostat will do wonders.

    Not Cool!

1969dartgts, I can make a shroud with the electric fan mounted in it for ya. I would need the exact measurements of the radiator core and the top and bottom flanges. I can make it out of aluminum and have it take up about 1.5" of space behind your radiator. P.S. There's always this option...

    Not Cool!

You may be onto something with the trans cooling loop, but I've never heard of that being a problem. If the viscous clutch is bad, that is probably your problem. Where is your fan shroud??? They really do work. The auto manufacturer's of the world would not use them if they were not...

    black or brass

There is truth to the color's relation to dissipation of heat but that rule is not limited to only black. Paint companies have used additives in any color paint to dissipate heat. Ceramic is the most common and works well. Most brake caliper paint is ceramic. Read this...
