    electrical problem (dash)

Fuses? bulbs good? all grounds good? I'm assuming you didn't have power to your new sockets (before you replaced them.)..

    "clicking" under the dash

You guys ready for this? So I found some time saturday to tackle this issue. The clicking was still coming from underneath the dash, so before i yanked the entire dash out, i wanted to isolate where it came from. I crawled underneath and started poking around. I found that the sound was coming...

    "clicking" under the dash

Well, i had to move to a electric voltage regulator since i now have a dual field alternator. Great guys here helped me out with that as well. so removed it entirely, and installed an electric VR. Thanks.

    "clicking" under the dash

Sorry, 67 Cuda. Just installed elec VR, but the clicking was happening before i converted from Mech VR. I hadn't thought of the instrument voltage limiter, thanks. THe battery was disconnected immediately, last thing i want to walk into is my 3 year project in flames in my garage, ha! Thanks...

    "clicking" under the dash

The only thing i didn't put back was a crappy home made wire (couldn't have been a ground) from the inside dash metal to the inside plastic bezel. WTF people?? Must have been the same person that cut a massive hole in the dash bezel with a chainsaw for a crappy 70's digital clock that i...

    "clicking" under the dash

Hi guys, I've done some brief searching and didn't come up with anything, so if this is covered somewhere i apologize. Here's the problem; I pulled out the dash a couple weeks back to deal with the smoked Amp meter. I bypassed the ampmeter all together, put everything back like it was...

    Dual Field Alternator no charge

Hey guys, So this diagram saved the day. Even though the docs for my alternator says i can use a mech VR in the above stated configuration, it never worked. My buddy dug up and old electric VR and as soon i grounded the shot out of it, the car started charging wonderfully. Thanks, this saved me.

    Dual Field Alternator no charge

I haven't tried the ground, but in the context of the schematic, if I'm using an old Mech. VR, (which I'm 1000% sure i am) I hook 1 field wire to Ignition, and the other field wire to to other side of the VR, or to ground? OR, do i absolutely need a new Elec. VR? Thanks.

    Dual Field Alternator no charge

Sorry, this is my 67 A-body. There was mention of a possible need for a later model regulator, but we didn't get that far. We'll ground the second terminal and get back with you, thanks!

    Dual Field Alternator no charge

I can't find my exact order history, but i bought almost this exact alternator, http://www.jegs.com/i/Powermaster/713/17509/10002/-1 We can't get it to charge the battery, but when we just jumper the second field wire, we can see the alternator working.Swapping fields doesn't work, so a...
