Help! Lost my key, can I jump start the Dart?

So I called a locksmith, and this idiot shows up stoned, wants $240 and works for 2 hours and can't do it. I Ordered a new switch with 2 keys for $18 and drove it into work today. Hey Dreno, are Canadian locksmiths different than the ones in the states? I have called 3 in my 44 years and none of...

    Altenator on wagon died

Woo Hoo! Picked up the fusible link last night on the way home as the parts store was closing, put it on and the wagon fired right up, looks like it is charging too. Drove the kids to school, then took the car in to work today. Nice to have her back on the road.

    Altenator on wagon died

So I got the alternator tested... BAD. So I wasted $1.60. But I hooked up the alternator wrong and fried some stuff. That's what I get for trying to be cheap. Now I need a new fusible link, cause I pulled mine off and I guess there is supposed to be wire in there, not just a floppy hollow...

    Help! I Fried something

So is the fusable link that little plastic block thing on the firewall? There is a wire on the firewall that says "Fuseable Link" on it but it does not go to the white plastic thing, and it looks OK from the outside. I guess the first thing I need to do is have the altenator checked. Then I need...

    Help! I Fried something

This is from another post of mine, but I hope more people will see this. It looked like my alternator was bad so I ordered new brushes (cause I am low on funds, of course) So I got the brushes today. Put them in, hooked up the alternator, connected the positive cable and... POP-Sizzle! Smoke...

That sounds good, be nice if this only costs me $1.60. I will have to look for that article.

    Altenator on wagon died

OK, I have a new question. How likely is it that this is the regulator? The ameter works but shows that the battery is not charging. I have the brushes on order from Kragen for $1.60 so I will give that a shot but it will take 2 days to get them. They have a whole alternator in stock on hold...

    Altenator on wagon died

Ii think that is what I will do then. Everything was working great, then it stopped charging. Even after, the gauges and everything work, so I hope this will do it. Cause like everyone else today I am short on funds. I see Rock auto has them, is there a chance I can find them in town in stock?

weird but my dash lights work now

I did that a few times and the lights would come back, but it just kept getting worse. Got in the Wagon last night and the dash lights work great. All I need to figure out now is the Temp gauge, it has not worked since I replaced the radiator. Any guesses?

Got a new light switch at Kragens for less than $20 and put it in. It looks like the old one burnt out. Fuel gauge is now working too.

    flickering lights 66 dart

I made time to work on this over the break. I replaced the light switch with one from Kragen ($18 if I remember) When I took out the old one I could see where the connector had heated up and melted some. I got it hooked back up and the headlights are working, and so is my fuel guage. But I am...

How do I get the Headlight and wiper switches off of my 65 Dart?

I am trying to get the instrument cluster off and can't figure out how these knobs come off! I have removed the rings behind the knobs and all of the screws on the dash but the knobs are still in the way.

weird but my dash lights work now

Definetly putting this on the to do list. That would be great if that is all that it is. The gauges did work when I got the Wagon at end of August, but I have replaced the battery and radiator since then and the gauges have been getting more iffy since. I have run out of gas 3 or 4 times now. I...

Right now that is the only gauge that works right. Also I have no power accessories (no air, no radio) except for the rear window. But that has quit working on me now too.

Thanks guys! My wagon just started doing this too. Also my Temp and Fuel gauges only work about once a month. I got a new 5V regulator but have not installed it yet. I have replaced the Battery, Radiator and Waterpump. I better go back and check all my grounds now.
