I would have thought buying some set screws would be easier and better looking..just my 2 cents

2.5" mufflers are made to fit 2.5" pipe you dont weld it becuase if you ever have to change the mufflers or a pipe you are screwed I used some nice band type muffler clamps on mine, cost a little more , but doesnt distort the pipe

2.5" mufflers will be a liitle big to accomodate the 2.5" pipe mufflers go before the rear end generally and dont weld them..use a clamp

i run headers into a x pipe i made, into 40 delta flowmasters into TTI tailpipes on my 75 duster 340 and im very pleased with the sound. Lets not forget the flowmasters are designed to improve exhaust scavenging, so they can also help your performance/hp compared to a cheap muffler or glass pack...

i have them on my 75 duster 340 and mine are offset in the front and centered in the rear....into TTI 2.5" mandrel tail pipes, that fit excellent, by the way

what if you unbolt the header off the collector, might give enough room?

depends on how much is done to your 273...if its stock or mild i dont think I would go much over 2", maybe 2 1/4"...you do want a small amount of backpressure I run 2.5" on my 400 hp 340

just adding headers usually requires jetting the carb up 1 0r 2 steps

I used the TTI mandrel bent tailpipes on my duster and they fit like a dream!

bought a set of headers from mopar...had talked with a guy that had a set and he said they werent bad and made by hedman...When i got mine they were made by "JR"s....thats capital 'J' for junk...didnt fit that great and leaked on the header flange right out of the box.... DONT BUY EM!

DONT buy them from Mopar....I was very disapointed

an X pipe will quiet it a bit

I bought an X pipe kit from flow tech...it came with the X and 4 legs...I built it to fit in no time with only a chop saw and mig welder..the legs are cut to fit for length...
