One other thing to consider is what year sway bar setup (if any) your plan to use. I didn’t see sway bar tabs on your lca's. I wanted to use the 73 and up sway bar so I'm also changing my k member. It sounds like you already have the bar and lca's for the 72 which would be fine.

All the pieces that came with the firm feel kit are different thickness. The skid plate, the sliver and the teardrop shaped pieces are all about an 1/8 th thick the triangle with the curve inside is actually a little thinner (.10) the cut washers are thick 5 mm the strut rod washers are...

It's my understanding that that the washers your talking about are the cut ones that go on the lca side of the k member not on the nut side they are fairly thick. Sorry for the pictures not being oriented correctly but this is the only way I could get it to upload. .197 or 5 mm

Ok so the k-member is going to get hot tanked then blasted. I got what I thought was real clean and the welding started ok but there are places that I just couldn't get with a wire wheel and I can feel more oil and Crap inside. It wasn't a total waste at least I got the stiffing plates and sway...

I bought the k member last year. When I first got it home I degreased it and it's just been sitting outside I went out to take off the lca's and strut rods and noticed that there is still quite a bit of oil or grease around where the power steering gear goes. Maybe I'll just try to degrease it...

I just received the k-member reinforcement kit from Firm Feel. I plan on welding up my k-member today or tomorrow. Does anyone have any tip or suggestions, or is there anything that I should know before I start welding?
