is it ok to adjust torsion bars to change my cars stance.

Look, you're not getting it. When you tighten the torsion bar adjustment bolt you are rotating the control arm, not the torsion bar. That is why it rides higher. You have not changed pre-load (there is none) or spring rate. I think you are speaking in extremes? as in cranking it way up and...

    Rear Leaf Springs

Goldduster, the ss springs were a little taller for tire clearance that you don't need. If you want it to sit lower just install some 1" blocks at the spring/axle housing. Those Espo +1" springs will hook just fine.

I have purchased a lot of tools from HF. The ones that suck you can pretty much tell lookin at em. I would not be mail order shopping from them. I have one 30 miles away so it's cool for me. I have their brake caliper tool set, 10" sliding compound miter saw ($80 and nice!), assorted air die...

dodge29, do you have arms that will fit our cars?

Tubular upper arms-I feel lucky tonight

I believe the gusseted arms are mild steel, the non-gusseted are chr-moly and don't require gussets. I tried calling MF, no answer.

Tubular upper arms-I feel lucky tonight

I like the Magnum Force and would spend for either the #1 or #2 arms they sell. They are very nice and made of chro-moly with badass rod ends. #1: http://www.magnumforce.com/store/detail.asp?ProductID=3895&CategoryID=40&BrandID=&Category=&SubCategory=&Search=&Page= #2...

Tubular upper arms-I feel lucky tonight

gussets are not required when using the correct materials for the design and then welding those materials properly. http://www.inertiamotorsports.com/camshafts.html http://www.progressiveautomotive.com/IFSparts.htm and a very interesting design here...

Tubular upper arms-I feel lucky tonight

Alright, I didn't have time earlier...the real difference between Magnum Force's 2 styles (gusseted and not) is not in the design of the control arm...it is in the material used to make the control arm. The two control arms without gussets are chromoly steel. The other two are probably a milder...

look at the magnum force arms without the gussets (2 have em, 2 don't) the ones without are using the balljoint socket as a gusset

    Instability Question

That's cool that he was able to hook you up. Odd issue with the idler/pitman arms... I was a little curious about the spindle's bein swapped, but maybe that has no effect...as in..they are centered on the pivot point.

    why a Ford 9"?

Dude, the 7.25" is one of the most under-rated rears out there! I had one back in 88 in a dart. I could not destroy it and it simply would not rust away! Oh yeah....thats because I removed it from my car and SoCal weather is so dry that it just didn.t rust....lol damn...didi I miss April fools...

    why a Ford 9"?

Blownfish, the rears have been tested and the articles have been written..........but by all means, believe and run whatever you like. The extra weight had little to no effect on strait line performance. I do not agree with you on your reasoning of why the 9" is most popular. Just look at the...

  29. mopar340dave

    why a Ford 9"?

Aftermarket support is not real limited on either unit anymore. If you have an 8.75" already, I can't see it being much of a price difference in building one or the other...ya might even come out cheaper with the 8.75". It's not like you have to do much in the way of beefing it up...unlike the...

    why a Ford 9"?

Gryzynx, the 9" has an extra bearing to support it because it NEEDS it! LOL Your spline count info is incorrect. I know, I own an original 69 dart swinger 340 4speed car w/8.75" rear end. It came with 30 spline axles from the factory. Here's a replacement axle, for example...
