Brakes are dragging on my 69 Barracuda

My guess would either be a piston is hanging up or the rubber hose is collapsed inside.

    Hydroboost braking systems

True the brakes power assist will go out after you apply it a few times but like you said so does a vacuum system. also your not trying to stop a 3+ ton truck, its a car. the main thing too is if your motor dies..... you stop. only a monkey going downhill is gonna try to keep going with a...

    Hydroboost braking systems

http://www.classicperform.com/ check these guys out. quite a few companies sell stuff made by them like hydratech. most of these setups came on trucks so its possible but probably easier to get the kits. If you want to look in the yards though most common would be just about any year diesel...

    Hydroboost braking systems

The kits average anywhere between about 700 to about 1200 dollars. pretty easy to install, just a plate with the master and the lines tee into the p.s. pump. I put one in a friends 502 powered camaro and the braking is great. it has a positive feel to it. not like some of the stock vacuum setups...

brakes wont work, duster almost smashed

if you have put dot 5 in a dot 3 system you probably have destroyed alot of the seals in your system. another problem is if you even had the slightest bit of dot 3 left in the system when you put in dot 5 you will also have a sludge like buildup in the calipers, wheel cylinders, etc. yes dot 5...

64 Dart Front Drum Removal (and more!)

The swage rolls over the knurl area of the stud, if you then cut this area down you are weakening the stud right at the worst possible point. plus a new stud is under 2 dollars so why risk your safety. as far as using a file or dremel you possibly could but it would take quite awhile. the tool...

64 Dart Front Drum Removal (and more!)

If your drums are still swaged in then you will need to find a shop that has the bit to cut them off. it looks like a hole saw that fits over the stud and cuts the area around the base off. to put them back on you do not need to swage them back on. just keep it like the rear so it slides back on...

    Power Brake Booster

It goes to the back of your carb. There is probably a plug in the back of yours so just take it out and install a barb fitting.

    Brake Pressure Reading

If i remember right most drums run about 400 psi and discs about 1,000 psi. it sounds like your not getting enough push to the master to apply the pressure for the brakes.

    Brake pad recommendations?

if you want a good pad check out Ferodo's VSD line. they come in a black and red box and are a graphite metallic. you can check for a parts plus supplier in your area or allied auto stores. great wear, stopping, and they don't fade out like the organics.

    inconsistant peddle

sounds like the master but could also be a bad fitting somewhere. sometimes they are sneaky and leak air in and what seems like no fluid out.

    inconsistant peddle

you said countless bleeding the brakes but are you getting air bubbles everytime you bleed it? also does the pedal height feel ok and is it always at the same or is the pedal sinking lower and lower?

    Touchy brakes

could really be a number of things. i would start by putting the car up on jacks and have someone hit the brakes while you turn each wheel to check for the one or more thats sticking. hopefully it will be something easy like a sticking caliper. check it running too in case there is an issue with...
