    Aftermarket Fuel Tanks

I am in need of a new fuel tank for my 72 dart, and rock auto has the best price that I have found. It is a spectra premium tank. Has anyone used one of these, and how is the quality of them?

Idles fine then wants to die driving

I did put a new rubber hose on at the sender, and thanks for the idea about blowing through the vent line. So what should I do about the missing charcoal canister?

Idles fine then wants to die driving

Someone has removed the charcoal canister and the line where it went is open, so I do not think that the tank has any venting issues.

Idles fine then wants to die driving

Not yet I have to get one, I am going to drop the tank to see how bad it looks inside. I have a feeling that it is rusty and may need a good cleaning/replacement as well.

Idles fine then wants to die driving

I think that I am having a fuel starvation problem due to a clogged fuel filter. The motor is a 360 in a 72 dart with an electric fuel pump and a filter before and after the pump. The car will idle fine for however long you want it to, but on my way to work (4 miles) it tried to die as I...

    Electric Fuel Pump

Well this past weekend I got one wired up. It is a street car with a mild 360 so I used a smaller pump with only like 2 amps of draw. I don't use the radio/deleted it so I used the radio hot as the power. Fused it with the proper size fuse for the pump. Wired it in with a toggle switch and...

    Electric Fuel Pump

Let me also ask this, and it may be a seperate issue. When the motor is hot and cut of to go into the store for a few minutes, restarting it is a royal pain. I have to grind on the starter for a while. It is almost like the fuel boils out of the bowls. What causes this?

    Electric Fuel Pump

It doesn't help when the fuel evaporates from the bowl and you have to grind a lot to get it pumped back up.

    Electric Fuel Pump

How does one go about putting in a return line? After a pressure regulator? Anyone got a diagram of the routing?

    Electric Fuel Pump

I have been thinking about wiring up a electric fuel pump on my dart with a 360 and an edelbrock thunder 650 avs. The car will sit long enough for the fuel to evaporate making it hard to start. What are some good choices on pumps, regulators, and necessary wiring. Do most of you wire it to...

    Gas Tank Swap

I may be swapping out gas tanks on my 72 dart in a few weeks and I have heard that it can be a pain to get the filler neck out. Anyone got any tips before I dive in. Also is there a rubber ring that needs to be replaced?

    question on phenolic spacers

Is it a 4 hole spacer or an open spacer? I have heard that a 4 hole helps torque and an open spacer helps hp.

    Looking for better fuel milage

The hydrogen units do work. My brother found some instructions on the internet and we put one on a 4 cyl. Nissan pickup truck. It improved the mileage by about 8-9 mpg if I remember correctly. I dont know if a V-8 would require more hydrogen, or if it would be as effective on a V-8

    which carb?

I have a Holley 700 dp that I was going to list here on FABO in a few days (when I can get pics). It has only been run for about 30 or 45 minutes so it is virtually new. My car is a auto so I decided to go vacuum secondary route. PM me if you are interested

    Holly or Thermoquad

Does anyone know what the factory jets in it are? I tried to search but came up with nothing. I am just trying to avoid buying the complete jet kit from the 60's to the 90's if I can and was hoping that the factory jets fell in the range of one of jegs kits (70-80) (80-90) (90-100) just...

    Holly or Thermoquad

Sounds like I will be using the holly if the lean burn will need mods. Anyway any tips for baseline jetting? and do i need to get some of the blue reusable gaskets (fuel bowl and metering block)? Or should I try and sell the Double pumper, it has only been run for about 30 min, and get a...

    Holly or Thermoquad

I havn't ever tuned a T-Q so I guess I am leaning towards the holly, how hard are they to tune, and would the dp cause the motor to run too rich
  22. 72dart_swinger

    Holly or Thermoquad

I believe that the T-Q is a smogger, the thermoquad web site mentions some with out the idle screw. Mine only has the long fast idle screw, that leads me to believe that it was one of the lean burn carbs.

    Intake Cam combo

I was wondering if the Weiand action plus intake was a good choice with a comp xe268 cam. Its in a mild 360 Dart that will be used for cruising around. Here are the cam specs. Lift: .477''/.480'' Duration: 268°/280° RPM Range: 1600-5800
