    mr gasket filter

Your not the only one. I once had one where when I looked inside I could see shards of metal. I took it back and told them it'sdefective. Hopefully they threw it away. Also the plastic ends are known to leak. Complete junk.

    Heat gasket

I have the gasket but which way does it go on? The intake is a edelbrock performer duel plane with performer carb. Does the line dividing the gasket in the middle seal against the line in the middle of the intake opening? Or is it flipped horizontaly? Thanks

    Setting choke

Last week we swapped an edelbrock 500cfm to a 1406 600cfm. What is the best method on setting the choke on the edelbrock performer carbs? Right now the little notch on the black wheel is near the middle. Seems like it takes a tad to long to warm up after sitting several days. What way do I turn...

    Heat gasket

I have been thinking about running one of these: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-9266/?image=large I have been having some heat soak issues with my edelbrock 1406. I wanted to run a 1/2 spacer but I wouldn't be able to shut my hood with my setup. My concern is shouldn't these gasket...

    No fuel in filter

What would the reason be for this. I used to have a edelbrock 500cfm carb. I run a clear glass fuel filter. The filter would always be full of gas after driving. Even for more than a day gas would remain in the filter. Now I have a 600cfm edelbrock. After a drive when I pop the hood most of the...

    summit carburetor

I think Summit just released these not too long ago. Is it just me or do these look identical to the Holley street avenger series carbs. Maybe these are Holleys just wth a Summit logo on it. Thats a really good price for all the your getting. Eventhough they are new has anyone here used these...

    650 AVS for 318

I got some friends that prefer holley over anything else. The edelbrock has been great as far as dependability. But I know Holleys are much better for performance.

    650 AVS for 318

How do you like the 600? Probably isn't much of a difference between a 500 and 600.

    650 AVS for 318

Right now I have a 500cfm edelbrock performer on my 318. It's a rather mild build with 9:1 compression. I have been told by many people the carb is too small. I have been looking for a slightly used 600cfm performer. But my question regards the 650cfm thunder avs edelbrocks. From what I have...

    turbo blue??

Thanks for the quick replys. Currently I have been running the middle grade 89 octane. Now I know not to bother with the turbo blue. Thanks

    turbo blue??

A co-worker of mine today was raving about turbo blue. Said it makes his AMX run better than ever. What exactly is this fuel? Is it just high octane gas with a fancy name or is it really good stuff? He also said it smells good. Would it hurt anything to run it in my 9:1 318? Where would I find...

    Hitting a wall at 4K

I had a very similar issue with my Duster a couple years back. I made two passes at the drag strip. Both times I had the car floored, over halfway down the track the car completey bogged out. Like it just ran out of breath. I thought it was going to stall. I asked about on this forum and...

    500 vs 600

Im really not sure what type of edelbrock it is. But I don't think it's a thunder series. I just have a performer 500cfm. Am I correct that when driving around I am only using 2-barrels until I punch the gas to the floor? Even if crusing down the highway at 65mph I am not operating on all...

    500 vs 600

It's a mild 318 that is mostly street driven. Equipped with a 340 cam, duels, 9:1 motor. I wasn't going to shell out the money for a new one. A friend of mine has one used that's on his 340, and I may be able to purchase it off him since he may upgrade to something bigger in the future. It's an...

    500 vs 600

I am debating about getting a 600cfm 4-barrel for my mildy built 318. Right now it has an edelbrcok 500cfm. Is there a real difference between the two sizes? Is it worth the extra money? I thought this would be the best place to ask. Seems most people here are running 600cfms on their 318's...

    carb spacer tricks

Thanks Justin. I'll try the 4-hole. I have had some head work done and my engine builder said I should have 9:1 compression so I am hoping to notice something with a spacer even if it's marginal. There so cheap so I wouldn't be out much.

    carb spacer tricks

I came across this link on the forum of a high performance 318 build. I thought it was interesting that they combined a 4-hole spacer/gasket with a 2-hole. http://www.popularhotrodding.com/tech/0901phr_mopar_318_magnum_engine/photo_13.html Has anyone here done something similar before? or...

    Fuel pressure question

I have a rather stupid question. What exactly does a fuel pressure gauge do? I know obviously it reads the pressure for the fuel, but how do you know what a good psi is and if it's good or bad? My motor is a mildly built 318. I was thinking about ordering one from summit. I have heard they are...

    K&N filter

Does anyone here use a k&n air filter. I have always heard they are the best. I have heard they can add up to 15hp and greater fuel economy. Right now I just have a wix filter inside a duel snorkel air cleaner on my 318. Are the k&n filters worth the $40 or so dollars. I know they last a very...
