i am stupid. I mounted the throttle cable in a stud that was too far out, in essence holding the throttle open. woops! Thanks for the replies though!

just installed a holley 2 barrel 350 cfm on my 318. It starts then proceeds to rev all the way up, i have to shut it off, that is the only way to stop it. Afterwords there is usually a little fire up top. The throttle is in the closed position when this happens?

ok, i rebuilt it, hooked it up and here is what happened. It started, but didn't want to idle too long. The first picture shows a horn in the center of the picture, fuel was spitting out of it. Any hints as to what would cause this? Is the butterfly to remain in the open position all the time...

I have a two barrel holley, just don't know what model. I want to get a rebuild kit just so i know how it works. During idle the engine shakes pretty bad, could this be timing, engine mounts, dirty carb? It is also spitting oil or something out of the exhaust. Get blue smoke when started and...
