Is this an option for the LA engine, or only the magnums? Is there a thread on it, I searched to no avail.

    FiTech EFI system

Just out of curiosity, other than vapor lock, what symptoms would occur due to the closed vent? I have an intermittent problem the the car falling off at high rpm, especially 3rd gear after a robust winding of 1st and 2nd gear. The A/F meter indicates the car goes way rich, but it acts like...

    FiTech EFI system

I worded my question poorly. I meant to ask, if I go with an external FI pump (not the command center), using the stock sending unit, can I use the vent on the stock sending unit as the return? I currently have the vent closed off.

    850cfm TQ - What's It Worth?

Unless they are for a desirable year & model, like a 71 340 Duster, or a 78 360 Express Truck, I would count on $25-$50 each. I have picked up several for around $30 each shipped from ebay, so that I could build my own strip kit.

    hard hot starts?

If you determine it is fuel related, start simple. What is the fuel line from the mechanical pump made of? Is it resting on any part of the engine? When I first got my Duster a few years ago, the aluminum line from the fuel pump was routed in the stock location, but was resting on the intake...

    What Is Good Gas Mileage?

My 408 stroked Duster with a TQ and 3.73 Dana, and a TKO600 5 speed gets about 17.8 mpg @ 70 mpg. No better at slower speed. Tuned to 15:1 A/F ratio at cruise.

    Air gap versus MP M1?

FWIW, I have a 408 stroker, 9.6:1 with Edel RPM's, 1 5/8 hookers, 3" exhaust, 236I242E .545 lift hyd roller, Dana 60 w/3.73's and (at the time) 727 with a 4000 stall 9.5" converter. TQ 850. Both of the below intakes have been gasket matched with some plenum work. I had the M1 single plane on...

408 tuning with a Wideband sensor

Can't help with the holley, but i have a similar combo, with a 236/242 @0.050, .544 lift, 5 speed, using a large boare TQ. I idle at 850, and cruise at 14.5-15.5 depending on temperature. 18 initial, 34 all in on the timing. WOT is around 12.5. Just keep tinkering. The Wideband A/F was the...

Fuel Tank -16 gallons.....why can I only put in 10 gallons?

Try filling up, and run it to 3/4 tank, fill up again. Repeat sequence for 1/2 tank and 1/4 tank. Post the data her, and we can interpolate for you. Mine was: Full = 0 gallons added 3/4 = 5 gallons added 1/2 = 7 gallons added 1/4 = 9 gallons added 1/8 = 12 gallons added. E = ? Never got that...

    Thermoquad race tune

I picked up 2 tenths in the quarter, and considerable gas mileage over the 750 dp, I had on before. I bought 6 extra tq's on ebay for a total of about $100, and made my own strip kit. The best investment you can make is in a good wideband A/F meter. Once I installed that, along some basic...

Running like crap when it's cold outside

FWIW, I installed a Air/Fuel mixture gage on my 73 Duster with a Thermoquad. I live in Central Alabama, which averages 90 deg F in Summer, and about 50 F in Winter, with of course colder and hotter. In Summer, on a 95 deg F day (35C, doubt it gets that hot in Norway?) I have it set to run at...

    Pressure Regulator recommendation

I had just the electric, and it worked fine. However, I got tired of the noise! I isolated, insulated and rubber mounted, and still got the noise. The Mechanical was installed to get rid of the noise. For the street, and short WOT blasts, the mechanical is enough. However, for sustained WOT...

    Pressure Regulator recommendation

I have a low 12 second 408 powered Duster. My fuel pumps (electric into Mechanical) are overpowering the needles in my TQ at WOT over 6000 rpm. I need a fuel pressure regulator to hold the pressure closer to 5, but still flow enough to keep from starving the engine. Any recommendations?

Age old question: electric, and mech fuel pump?

FWIW, the electric flows almost as much going through the mechanical (motor off) as when there was no mechanical in place. Don't know about the flow of the mechanical, though. Hard to check with the motor running (needs fuel) and a little scary, too.

Age old question: electric, and mech fuel pump?

I have both on my 408 stroker Duster. I use it as described for the above, and to supplement on 1/4 passes (best of 12.09 @ 110). It is a Carter GP4070 Electric feeding into a Carter M6270, from a 3/8 pickup through 3/8 fuel line. For normal driving, the electrical is off, since it is too...
