I worded my question poorly. I meant to ask, if I go with an external FI pump (not the command center), using the stock sending unit, can I use the vent on the stock sending unit as the return? I currently have the vent closed off.

Can I use the stock sending unit, with the vent acting as the return line back into the tank?

X3. I did it 5 years ago on a Edel 1406 when I got back into muscle cars after a 20 year hiatus.

Unless they are for a desirable year & model, like a 71 340 Duster, or a 78 360 Express Truck, I would count on $25-$50 each. I have picked up several for around $30 each shipped from ebay, so that I could build my own strip kit.

My 408 stroked Duster with a TQ and 3.73 Dana, and a TKO600 5 speed gets about 17.8 mpg @ 70 mpg. No better at slower speed. Tuned to 15:1 A/F ratio at cruise.

I have a low 12 second 408 powered Duster. My fuel pumps (electric into Mechanical) are overpowering the needles in my TQ at WOT over 6000 rpm. I need a fuel pressure regulator to hold the pressure closer to 5, but still flow enough to keep from starving the engine. Any recommendations?

FWIW, the electric flows almost as much going through the mechanical (motor off) as when there was no mechanical in place. Don't know about the flow of the mechanical, though. Hard to check with the motor running (needs fuel) and a little scary, too.
