my 71 Valiant has that vent tube on the fuel pump. on the original one barrel setup, a holley 1920, it went to the bowl vent on the carb. my two barrel setup has no bowl vent. I just plugged the fuel pump vent (goes into the crank case) off. must be ok it passes smog every year.

what filter do they use?

flow rates for the six cylinder bbd ranged from 220cfm up to 280cfm. i think most federal cars used a 265cfm carb on the super six setup. most of the 318 carbs were 280-285cfm from what i have seen
