    Wheel opening mouldings - redux

Thanks. I have been looking at those. Problem is that they only list them as fitting hardtops through 1970. I have written this vendor, and the other vendor who has them listed, and they were clueless as to what they actually fit. Our friend Rick from Laysons confirms that they are basically...

    Trunk Rust

Good point. That's seam sealer, not undercoating. The stampings are spot welded together, then the seam sealer is applied to keep moisture from seeping in. You will want to dig out all of that, then use a seam sealer like 3M seam sealer to reseal the seams. Mother Mopar slathered the crap in...

    Wheel opening mouldings - redux

OK, lets try this again. I am working on a 1971 Swinger. I need wheel opening mouldings. Are any other years' mouldings correct for this model?

    A body wheel moldings

How much difference is there in the wheel opening mouldings of the hardtops between 1967 and 1976?

How do you remove door glass

Thanks. I removed a tinted piece of glass a few months ago, and it involved an air-powered cut-off wheel to complete the job. I got the glass, but I ruined the crap out of everything else doing it! I think I missed the allen screw under the smallish plug! THANKS!

    Bad Day!

I talked to a Guardian glass dealer last week. They had tinted windshields in stock in Cincinnati for $150 cash and carry. They don't install glass that old. That's for a hardtop, but I am sure the others are priced similarly. The fellow I talked to said that they will make any windshield...

How do you remove door glass

Then how'bout a step by step for those of us about to face the same PITA? ;-)

    Dart Windshield Interchangability

The Demon/Sport windshield is different than the hardtop windshield. I THINK the sedans had different windshields than the hardtops. You will probably want a gasket, too. The best deal I have found is Danno Enterprises @ $75 for front or rear. I ordered mine last Friday and received it on...

Removing bulbs from side marker lights?

I will look tomorrow, but I think twist and yank is the appropriate procedure.

'71 Scamp windshield install - what parts needed?

I THINK the gasket is different if you have a chrome molding than if you don't. I may be wrong, so check when you buy it. The molding clips are very available on eBay and from just about all of the vendors. Make certain you get molding clip screws that have sealant already on them.

Hood Badge on the 71 Dart

BINGO! That's what I thought! And it was glued, not pinned?

    Lacuqer paint

Back in the old days, GM used lacquer, while most of the rest used enamel. The Lacquer looked better in the showroom, but years down the road, the enamel held up better. I have cars painted in base/clear, and it looks nice, but i think it is a bit brittle compared to acryllic enamel, like...

    Compressor for paint? Help

Spend the money and get the compressor that will handle your tasks with ease. If you are to have a good paint job, you need the paint itself to dictate the pace of your work, not the availability of air to feed the gun. Compared to the time and money you have invested in paint and materials...

Hood Badge on the 71 Dart

I am working on a 1971 Dart (LH23G1R). My downfall is that I am a detail freak. The car was tapped on the left front corner of the hood, and there is no hood badge there. I have seen examples of the 71 Dart with no hood badge, I have seen the 71 Dart with a script badge a la the 1970, and I...

Good paint brands that won't break the bank

Nason paint is quite a bit thinner than the DuPont Brand. Their primers and clear coats are fine. PPG makes good paint at a better price than DuPont, but if the paint has a lot of metallic or pearl in it, you're better off with the DuPont. Avoid the Omni One step. WE'v e usually had better...
