mine went there, rotted from inside out due to poor rear window seal.............i fannyed around with it then one day got my grinder with cutting disk, placed it against the body, closed my eyes,wimpered a bit then cut cut cut!!! im doing same now with a rear wheel arch,only way really! good...

went fiberglass fenders due to mine being shot, had to make steel headlamp panels, about a mornings work and pleased with result! im no fabricator etc but needs must!
i gotta agree, i once told my ex my next car i woul be "going green" she was delighted thinking id gone all enviromentally friendly and was shocked when i pulled up in my 68 notch! was a fiat green when i bought but as the man above says, sublime is the way!!!
hello all, be a bolt on with 4 bonnet pins, weighed original hood today<less cast inserts>27.5kg so over 30 in total, didnt weigh new one, will tomorrow along with photos of inner fenders etc, reakon new hood 5 to 7 kg max?
you stick it out man! im doing mine from a mould off my hood, my metal needs a ton of work, not beyond my skills but its still metal so im losing weight by going glass and hoping itll help with my b/b diet in losing lbs in my A body
not wanting to buy and ship to uk <yikes> whole rear quarter i made this up today, will need bit of filler / bashing but better than whats there! :cheers: ran outta mig wire or would have fitted today,never mind, always another day!
my 2p worth<from uk> i had some grot on area on flat panel under windscreen it looked pretty bad, a scraped it back and all it turned out to be was a hole couple of millimeters....... with filler over it the bit literally burst the filler away cracking paint and looking real crap.....time to...
tackling the dreaded rust on my barracuda, chopping out where i can, was having feners/hood blasted but going fiberglass now<should lose few lbs i gained with going 440ci> im needing to sort my rear arches out not bad enough to warrant buying/needing whole new quarters plus shipping to uk be...
ta man, car been so neglected by past owners, ive had 6 years now and ploughing through it all, surprisingly its on the road and that! like a rolling restoration!:cheers:
headlamp panel rotten didnt realise part of fender and chances of getting one here in uk are like rocking horse poo so heres my attempt! flat piece of sheet steel, couple hours,$20 headlamp bowl,welder,ships,grinder...........
cheers tony!mine so "detached" didnt think it ever part of fender=P~ ill get ther with it, here in uk there are loads of old fords from late 60s and 70s people restoring quite easily due to the availability of repro panels and these cars typically 7" lamp.
