How common is it to have front sheetmetal move when going over bumps? Ours moves, and our hood flexes plenty going down the highway, it is fully latched, but still makes me nervous. Is this common with the darts?

Thank you very much, the stripe turned out GREAT! I still need to cut out the side marker area so I can put it back on (wanting it to dry totally first). It really added to the car..... now on to find a deal on a new set of wheels.

Maybe have the wrong year emblems? Our 74 dart "swinger" emblems have three holes and the front fenders have three holes. ps we could use some brand new emblems ;)

Can we get better pics of it? Looks pretty close to the one I am adding to my wifes dart.

Wohoo! It just came home today. Now I need to work on the carb, ticking lifter, and tranny leak and she should be ready for the road!

I wish we could get the torque thrust D wheels, but out of our price range right now. :( Thinking about buying these for $300 for a cheap start since we still need to eventually get the bumpers rechromed, new weatherstripping, carb rebuilt, buy the stripe from challengergary, new carpet, new...

You would think so, but having a hard time finding a nice set for under $500 used in good shape, at least in 15". I have a pair of like new 255/60 bfg tires just waiting in the garage for the rims........

They said it is a dupont formula called "bright violet effect" code c5428 hope that helps :)

They are going to do some wet sanding to try and help make it look smoother, so I will see how much peal is still there afterwards. We got to see it painted, but unassembled in the sun, and love the color.

The paint is actually a fleet color. More metallic than plum crazy. I don't remember which paint service, it is a base/clear with the jambs done and some dents removed and the one 1/4 panel patch. Costed her $2500. She is real happy, but I think it is still too wavy and would have spent more...

Car is almost done. It is a 74 swinger. Looks pretty good, just wish they did more block sanding on it, but it will do for a driver quality paint. The paint is dusty there, and it was cloudy so it looks kind of dull/dark. We are trying to find new wheels for it, that or just put on dog dish...

I need new door and trunk since the new paint job, and wanted to know of anyone who was pleased with theres, and the manufacture. thanks :D

Boy am I glad I found this topic! We are looking to replace the vinyl top on our dart this fall and there are two bubbles under the top that we can see, and am sure there are pits all over too. We are looking at putting a new vinyl top back on, but want to stop it from getting any worse or any...

We have had the car for about five years, and other than changing the interior to black, and switching bumpers, we have not done anything to the car..... until now! She is at the body shop getting "bright violet effect" paint and bodywork. Very pleased how the work is being done and quality...

I have an Astro LVLP gun currently, but only shot single stage, and only a hood so far. I was thinking about spraying durring the daytime, or better yet night time to have less people out and about.

I say go for it! I think they look good :) If/when the dart gets repainted, we want to put on a stripe, just need to decide if it will be painted, or vinyl.

I see in one of the videos that the fans are blowing out some overspray. Were there filters before the fans? Was it an HVLP or LVLP paint gun? I am thinking about doing the same in my garage, but worried about getting overspray on the house/cars in the driveway though. thanks

Almost $400 for those scoops? Ouch..... had been thinking about adding them to the dart before paint, but am not sure now........
