You could use #6 screws and offset the holes. (Drill new pilot holes next to the old), and fill the old holes. Or weld up the old holes to add a little material. Put a welding blanket down on that paint.

I put new felts in mine and glued the chrome to the glass with the same black 3M adhesive that I used on my trunk seal and door seals. 3M #08011 I believe.

What is this piece of trim / felt called and where can I get it? Obiously it is in sad shape. I have seen "catwiskers" but thats for the bottom of the window. This piece goes vertically on the rear roll up side glass.

I don't smoke and If I were to use gas to clean something I would do it in a very open area. Just a shot in the dark on using something that was otherwise useless, (old gas). I wont chance it though if it might eat up the gasket.

Try to save your old one as they are no longer being made, hopefully temporary situation, but old stock is hard to find and expensive.

Lots of WD-40, putty knifes from inside and out and muscle. Direct sun on a hot day helps but I did mine in December.

Very common windshild, most any glass place should be able to get it, usually for under $200. The hard part will be finding a gasket as they are on backorder everywhere right now.

I have seen them on ebay from time to time. The NOS ones are not cheap. I am looking for a couple NOS ones myself as the ones I have are in poor shape. I was thinking of painting them with chrome paint and seeing how they come out.
