    Satin or Gloss Black?

Probably going to do gloss black rims as most of you folks have mentioned, even though its not correct for a 68, my car has a black front spoiler & rear stripe, black rims should give visual balance, I need the contrast as my car is bright yellow and bright yellow rims might be overkill.

    Satin or Gloss Black?

The OEM black steel rims from factory in 68, did they come in Satin or Gloss black? What do you guys/gals think looks better with a dog dish setup Satin or Gloss rims?

    Tire Balancing

I'm running stick on weights at the moment, because I can get away without them being visable as I'm running full wheel covers. I want to change to dog dish which leaves me with two options, do the dynamic balance and maybe paint the wheel weights black so they don't stand out like a sore thumb...

    Tire Balancing

How are most of you guys balancing the wheels on your car, Static or Dynamic? A large number of cars I see don't have any wheel weights visiable on the outside lip of the rim which would indicate Static balancing, I thought Dynamic was the far superior method for wheel balancing.

    68 barracuda tire size

My 68 Barracuda is running P215 60 R14 on the front, I do sometimes run a set of P225 60 R14 with no problems, on the rear I'm running P245 60 R14 on 8 inch wide rims.

14" rim.....what size tire will work best

OP didn't know what size rims he had, 5" or 6" was his thought, I just gave a general reply to 5 1/2" and 6", no where in my response do you see me use the word OE. My response is not being specific, just giving a general overview of a few different options since the exact size was not provided...

14" rim.....what size tire will work best

I know the difference between a 60 & 70 series tire and don't need to be schooled on it, I've just provided the guy options nothing more. The minimum wheel for a six inch rim is P215 60 or 70 R14

14" rim.....what size tire will work best

If your rims are 6 inch, BF Goodrich radial T/A P225 60 R14 or P215 60 R14 will work, if your working with 5 1/2" then the P215's are probably the better option. If you want a taller side wall go to 70 series, just make sure you have the front wheel well clearance.

    68 Barracuda tire sizes

Why are you putting a 70 series tire on the front? and not a 60 like the rear. 70 series has a taller side wall and it may cause tire rub on the wheel opening when turning. The small bolt Cragars from Summit gives you only one choice for the front in 6" and two different back space choices for...

    68 Barracuda tire sizes

Unfortunately I don't have my car here or I'd measure my offset. Are you working with the small 4" bolt pattern and what width are you looking at for the front and rear?

    68 Barracuda tire sizes

I have BF Goodrich P225 60 R14 (6 inch rim)on the front and P245 60 R14 (8 inch rim)on the rear of my 68 Barracuda with no problems, make sure you get Crager's with the proper offset for your application.

    Factory Specs on Tire Pressure?

Thanks for the replys, I always run 32-35psi on this vehicle and will continue to do so, it just made me scratch my head when I seen the 26psi for the front.

    Factory Specs on Tire Pressure?

How accurate is the factory specs for tire pressure that is on the door jam plate. My daily driver is a 02 Suzuki XL7 4x4 (235 60 R16), it recommends 26 psi on the front tires and 35 psi on the rear, does this make sense to anyone for the front tire pressure?

Does Centerline make a 15" Auto Drag in Satin Finish rim in SBP(5x4) in any other width for the front of the car then 3.5" or 7"? They list a 5.5" but I can only find it in polished.

    14 X 5.5 Rim Tire selection???

You'll need someone with a 65 A body to chime in here to verify what is largest setup you can fit without modification. My yellow 68 Barracuda in my avatar has 14x8" rims on the back with 245-60-R14 which fit with no problems, but I probably have more wheel well space to work with.

    14 X 5.5 Rim Tire selection???

I had B.F Goodrich 235-60-R14 installed on my 14x6" front rims and it looked stupid because the sidewall was bulging out too much past the rim, I had them changed to 225-60-R14. It all depends on the look you want, if you want a flush side wall on a 5.5" rim then 215-60-R14 would be more...

Have P225-60-R14 BFG T/A'S on the front of my 68 Barracuda with 14X6"rims and P245-60-R14 on the back with 14X8"rims. For your 5.5"rims, the size RedFish has recommended (P215 70 R14) or if you want a lower side wall (P215 60 R14).

Wheel/Tire help for 68 notchback barracuda

S/S springs will definitely raise the back of the car, but they can also raise it a bit too high and make the car look like a door wedge. I had to put a couple of metal blocks under my S/S springs to bring the *** down a bit. S.M.G if you go with a BF Goodrich P245 60 R15 on the rear, you...

Wheel/Tire help for 68 notchback barracuda

Cool, congrats sweetmopargirl, I'm very happy for you, a 68 notchback can hold some really large rims on the back (15x10), but to avoid problems with tire rub I recommend going with a 15X8" on the rear and for some contrast 15X5.5" or 6 on the front. Important to deal with someone that really...

Thanks everyone for all the response's. Thanks TXDart through exprience you have answered my question, I'm aware the other style cap is definitely more readily available, but you have to admit the one with the holes looks better, I'll assume that's why you put them on your car, which looks cool...
