Thanks to this link, I found out that 2 of the tires on my truck were made in '05, one in '03, and one in (yikes) '96. So guess what happened today? I was only going about 35 or 40, no damage or injuries- but it did throw my afternoon schedule right in the toilet.

There may be another alternative- don't know how it is in your town, but here the local dump- whoops, I mean "Transfer and Recycling Station" -has a tire pile. People throw away pretty decent tires all the time. Or, my local junkyard sells the tires they pull off the wrecks for 10-20 bucks a...
