    Tire size that won't rub

What is your spacing on your wheels? I don't see a link or picture, are these factory steel wheels or aftermarket?

what kind of rims should i buy.....?

Your wheel choice is will be limited to your bolt pattern. Body-colored wheels with dog dishes and redlines look the best to me. But as you can see, I do like a nice set of Cragars.

Whats a nice sized tire for a fastback Cuda

If you are using the stock brakes, you may be able to get away with the 225/60's. but most likely they will rub on the front edges. I actually modified my front lip to clear. Best bet is to find someone that stocks the 215/60s also so you can have a backup of the 225s don't fit.

    Tired tires

Yeah, my BFGs are flat spotted real bad. I am getting ready to put a new set on mine and get a good alignment. They have just had a recent run of BFGs (many were backordered) so you should be able to get a fairly new tire no matter the size you decide to go.

Whats a nice sized tire for a fastback Cuda

235/60/15 on 15x7 standard 4.25 BS Cragar SS. I have the 8 3/4 with the large bolt pattern truck axle conversion which brings the rims out a little on each side (compared to the stock small bolt axles). Just as an FYI, the front is 225/60/15 on same size rim.

    Let's Talk 67-69 Barracuda 17x8 rims

My suspension is far from stock.. don't get me wrong, I haven't gone crazy with it, but it does have all polygraphite bushings, beefer end links, new ball joints, heavier torsion bars, heavy duty rear leafs with poly bushings, heavy sway bar, and firmfeel stage 2 steering box. I most likely...

here have all the TA Radials Gone?

Yes, I have been looking for 225/60/15 for the front of my Barracuda. I had a wheel weight cut two small holes in the sidewall. I can not find a RWL 225/60/15 anywhere. Even the Cooper Cobras and the Mickey Thompson in that size is only listed as a blackwall.

    Let's Talk 67-69 Barracuda 17x8 rims

    Yeah, they aren't bad, but I don't see a 5.5 backspacing (+25mm) option.

    Let's Talk 67-69 Barracuda 17x8 rims

Ok, now that 15" RWL letter tires are becoming obsolete, I'm considering "modernizing" my Barracuda by moving up to a 17" wheel. I do know that most say a 5" to 5.5" backspacing is required to get a 245/45/17 on the front (will anything larger on front fit?) and a 5" rear backspacing for maybe...

    215/65/15

Good luck with the BFG Radial T/A's.... seems as though they are all mostly on National Backorder. I have been searching for a new set of 225/60/15 for the front of my Barracuda (yes, I have modified the front lip) and there are NONE out there (except for a few that some of the stores are...

10 year old tires ok for highway driving?

Wow, I had a nice set of tires on the rims stored in my garage, stacked, proper air, towel between each tire and armor all'ed down. Went out to the garage to find the top tire seperated just like that picture that has been posted. The tire was right at 12 years old at the time. Since then, I...

    Widest front tires

I corrected my posts.... I was having a brainfa.. well, you know. I have 225 on the front and they still rubbed before trimming. Sorry for the confusion.

    Widest front tires

15x7 unilug with 4.125 backspacing. Which is the problem with the 225. But they clear now and fit pretty good. Also, if I decide to go 17", it may give me a little wiggle room to fit in the 245s... we will see. I'm happy with the 15s at the moment.

    Widest front tires

Depends on several factors. To get a larger choice of wheel, many have converted over to the 73+ disc brakes. This pushes the wheel out from the original location about 1/2 inch per side. Because of this, the backspacing is critical for the correct fit. I do know of people getting away...
