    the two wires with the crimp on ends looks like someones attempt to get it working by running wires from somewhere?? Looks like you are missing part of the harness...the harness should plug into that 3 prong plug in your photo and has a round rubber plug that goes on the transmission switch...

    pre 1970 the shifting mechanism was a ball detent set up(prefered) and after was the scissor type...buy I do have the scissor type in my Duster and no problems yet

    The later a-833s with the scissor type shift mechanism(inside the side shift cover) are not as desireable either
